2022 NFL Preseason Super Bowl Odds

Super Bowl, Logos, Bills, Buccaneers, Rams, Packers, Chiefs

Even though it’s only the preseason, many people are already making predictions on which team will win the Super Bowl. We now know the favorites and underdogs entering the campaign, but who’ll be hoisting the Lombardi trophy?

Both the Bills and Buccaneers are among the early betting favorites. The other contenders include the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs, two teams that made the playoffs last season. The Los Angeles Rams, who’re reigning Super Bowl champions, are also in the mix.

In this article, I discuss the 2022 preseason Super Bowl odds and highlight the teams with high expectations. I also offer my predictions and betting pick on the eventual Super Bowl winner.

Preseason Super Bowl Betting Odds

  • Buffalo Bills; +600
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers; +900
  • Kansas City Chiefs; +1000
  • Los Angeles Chargers; +1100
  • Los Angeles Rams; +1100
  • Green Bay Packers; +1200
  • Cincinnati Bengals; +1600
  • San Francisco 49ers; +1600
  • Baltimore Ravens; +1800
  • Philadelphia Eagles; +2000

The Bills suffered a disappointing end to the 2021-22 season. Now, they’re at the top of the Super Bowl betting odds in the preseason. Not far behind are the Buccaneers, a team that recently won a Super Bowl, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The best sites for NFL betting will offer high odds on many preseason futures, so make sure you’re taking advantage of their lines.

Preseason Super Bowl 2023 Top Favorites

The preseason Super Bowl odds show that multiple teams have a shot at winning a championship in 2022-23. It should be a tight race, and that’s what most football fans love to see.

And yet, certain teams seem to be ahead of the competition. Let’s check them out.

Buffalo Bills

  • Head Coach: Sean McDermott
  • Key Player: Josh Allen
  • Last Year’s Record: 11-6

The Bills are now a perennial contender because Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. They’re betting favorites to win the Super Bowl in most futures markets, and this could be the year where they finally go the distance.

I want to focus more on Josh Allen – he’s quickly developing into an elite QB with total command of the offense. He’ll likely score a ton of points for the Bills, as he has plenty of weapons at his disposal. This includes Stefan Diggs, who’s currently a top-10 wide receiver.

The defense, which was very good last year, got even better over the offseason. The team signed linebacker Von Miller, who’s fresh off a Super Bowl victory. He’ll add a lot more stability to the Bills’ pass rush and help the team get after the quarterback more effectively.

Buffalo is built to win now, but will they make it to the Super Bowl? Their last appearance in the big game was during the 1993 season. The team appeared in four consecutive Super Bowls during the early 90s but lost every time.

The franchise needs a mentality change to succeed in 2022-23, especially against such strong competition. And yet, it feels like everything is coming together for the Bills this time around.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Head Coach: Todd Bowles
  • Key Player: Tom Brady
  • Last Year’s Record: 13-4

Only two years removed from a Super Bowl victory, the Buccaneers are very much in contention to win another one. And with QB Tom Brady at the helm, it’s almost a guarantee that the team will win the AFC South at the very least this season.

Brady originally decided to retire after the previous season ended, only to unretire less than two months later. Once Brady announced his return, the odds for Tampa Bay to win the Super Bowl changed dramatically.

On the NFC side, the Buccaneers are atop the Super Bowl odds in the preseason. Keep in mind that former head coach Bruce Arians decided to step aside, paving the way for Todd Bowles to take over the team. He’s a defensive-minded coach and will likely implement a new system.

With a proven winner at the helm of the offense and loads of talent all over the pitch, the Buccaneers can definitely challenge for Super Bowl LVII.

Kansas City Chiefs

  • Head Coach: Andy Reid
  • Key Player: Patrick Mahomes
  • Last Year’s Record: 12-5

The Chiefs won a Super Bowl during the 2019 season and had a chance to win consecutive championships (they would lose to the Buccaneers next season). After two consecutive Super Bowl berths, they couldn’t overcome the Bengals in last year’s AFC championship game.

We can’t overlook the fact that the Chiefs parted ways with superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill during the offseason. The team will now have to adjust and depend on more of a group effort from the current receiving core.

Despite losing Hill, the Chiefs are contenders this year because of QB Patrick Mahomes. He’s one of the best players at the position throughout the entire NFL. I believe he’ll remain efficient and lead one of the most potent offenses in 2022.

I’m not sure this will be enough to win the Super Bowl, though.

Green Bay Packers

  • Head Coach: Matt LaFleur
  • Key Player: Aaron Rodgers
  • Last Year’s Record: 13-4

Here’s another team that parted ways with an elite wide receiver. The Packers traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders during the offseason. He’s arguably a top-3 wideout in the NFL right now, with two All-Pro selections in the past two years.

Even though the Packers are without Adams, the team will likely succeed in 2022. QB Aaron Rodgers recently won his second consecutive MVP award, showing no signs of slowing down.

Despite his prolific career, the reigning NFL MVP has only won a single Super Bowl. It’s perhaps one of the biggest shortcomings of Rodgers’ career, but he’s good enough to help his team contend for a Super Bowl every year.

The 2022 NFL preseason Super Bowl odds also favor the Packers because the defense is really good right now. With talented players on the defensive line, Green Bay should generate plenty of pressure against opposing quarterbacks.

Super Bowl 2023 Prediction and Betting Pick

I truly believe that there isn’t a team that’s better than the Buffalo Bills at the moment. With depth at almost every position on the roster, you can’t deny that the Bills are dangerously good. They’re going to score plenty of touchdowns and shut down their opponents defensively.

I have a bonus betting pick for you. Aaron Rodgers is a force of nature in the NFL, and he’s due for another Super Bowl appearance. With four MVP awards to his name, he remains at the top of his game and will likely deliver another stellar season.
