In the casino industry, one of the last things a casino seemingly cares about is the look and feel of their website. As someone who has reviewed literally hundreds of online gaming sites over the years, I can tell you that in most cases, whatever was originally designed is typically still in place in some form.

Imagine my surprise, however, when I stumbled back upon an ad for Spin Palace and found an entirely new site. Initially, I wondered if it was all smoke and mirrors, but seeing that they have also added a major new category to their offering, I felt the time was right to scrap our old review and start fresh.

About Spin Palace

Spin Palace Casino Header

Spin Palace lists its owners on their site as Bayton Limited. I have uncovered that this is a subsidiary company of the Palace Group of Casinos. Based in Malta, these folks run several brands; this brand, in particular, has been in the industry since 2001, although it was only recently that they changed their look and feel.

The casino has two gaming licenses; one from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and the other from the Malta Gaming Authority. What matters to you is the Malta license; this one would have been much harder to acquire and would have required that the company open its books wide to allow the regulator to ensure everything was up to their standards.

Who Can Play at Spin Palace?

To maintain their Malta Gaming Authority license, the casino has to adhere to the strict rules about who can play for real money at their site. With many European countries rolling out their own regulations, you will see some prominent names on the following restricted list; as Spin palace works their way through each country they can apply for individual licensing should they deem it worthwhile to go through the process over and over again.

Restricted countries include:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • British Virgin Islands
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • France
  • French Guiana
  • French Polynesia
  • Hong Kong
  • Hungary
  • Iran
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Jersey
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Puerto Rico
  • Romania
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan
  • Turkey
  • S. Virgin Islands
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Software Suppliers

Spin Palace has three software providers; one each for the different facets of their business. For their casino, the company uses Microgaming, one of the industry’s top-rated vendors. They added Live Dealer games a couple of years ago, and for those games, they are using another industry specialist in Evolution Gaming. Finally, for their new sportsbook offering, Spin Palace is working with SB Tech, a company that is working with many white-label partners to add sports to their current platforms.

Overall, I am very pleased with the choices that this group has made from the software side. All three provide robust software that is accessible easily through browsers, both on your PC or your mobile device. This allows you to have a seamless gaming experience no matter where you happen to be when you decide you want to gamble.

The Good Stuff and the Bad

PROS

  • They added a Sportsbook!
  • Hot and Cold Games

Cons

  • No ongoing promotions
  • Historical Player Issues

They added a Sportsbook!

This is definitely the biggest news from this reviewer’s standpoint. Not only is adding a sportsbook to Spin palace a first for the Palace Group (and likely not the last), it gives players the ability to now make sports bets without having to switch sites and therefore accounts. This seamless transition between products makes Spin Palace an even more solid choice to make your deposit.

Hot and Cold Games

While some may think of this as a bit of a marketing ploy, I actually like the concept. In the casino lobby, two icons are indicating which games are hot (paying out a lot) or cold (due for a payout). Depending on your own personal beliefs, choosing one or the other can have an impact on your overall enjoyment. I am happy to see Spin Palace trying some ideas to motivate players to continue playing.

No ongoing promotions

This is perplexing to me. As you will see in the Promotions section of this review, it seems Spin Palace puts all their eggs into the Welcome Bonus basket. I don’t like the fact that I don’t see ongoing promotions listed on the site; it makes me wonder what will motivate me to come back over and over to this casino given the incredible amount of competition out there.

Historical Player Issues

In researching Spin Palace for this review, I uncovered a series of player and affiliate complaints about the business practices of the company; players complaining about slow play, and affiliates pissed off about changes to Terms and Conditions. None of these seem to be too recent, so I am keeping one eye on the issue while continuing to give the casino the benefit of the doubt.

Sportsbook

Spin Palace Sports

This is the most obvious change since the last time we reviewed this casino. Launched in July 2017, the new Spin Palace Sports is fully integrated into the site; your account balance can now be used either for casino games or for betting on sports.

The sportsbook section of the site isn’t nearly as cluttered as a Sports-focused site might be. I think the management team realizes that marketing sports betting to a casino crowd requires a soft sell, focusing on major events and not every third-tier soccer league in Europe. When you get to the sportsbook page, you will find the odds for most of the major action happening today; if you look on the left-hand side of the page, you will see links to all the sports they cover:

  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • American Football
  • Tennis
  • Baseball
  • Ice Hockey
  • Specials
  • Handball
  • Rugby League
  • Golf
  • Snooker & Pool
  • Motor Racing
  • Darts
  • Cycling
  • Speedway
  • Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Floorball
  • Table Tennis
  • Winter Sports
  • Badminton
  • Rugby Union
  • Trotting
  • Aussie Rules
  • Winter Olympics
  • MMA
  • Cricket
  • Surfing
  • Netball
  • esports
  • Gaelic Football
  • Virtual Sports

For a new entrant on the sportsbook scene, I am pleased to see so many sports available, along with all the bet types that could want as a recreational gambler. Also, it is good to see eSports being offered as a betting option; these games are a way to get millennials to become players, which has always been a hot topic of discussion over the years.

Casino Game Selection

Live Dealer Games

Evolution Gaming started a Live Dealer focused software company a few years ago and have quickly become the leader in the space. Their games, filmed in a proprietary studio in Europe, give you the feeling of playing your favorite casino games in a live setting even though you are sitting in your own living room. While the games play a little more slowly than traditional online games, I actually like the fact that the gameplay feels less machine-like.

You can check out the following Live Dealer games at Spin palace:

  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • 3 Card Poker

Video Poker

Spin Palace Video Poker Games

Readers of my reviews know how much I love video poker, which is why I am always thrilled when I get to review a Microgaming licensee. The software company rolls out all the major variants of the game, and with this many games to choose from I could find myself playing here for hours (don’t judge me!).

Video Poker is unique in that you have the chance, depending on the pay table of your game and your playing strategy. To shift the odds ever so slightly in your favor. I know this sounds crazy, but it is indeed the case. Check out the video poker offering at this casino:

  • All Aces
  • Jacks or Better
  • All American
  • Aces & Faces
  • Double Bonus
  • Bonus Deuces Wild
  • Tens or Better
  • Aces & Eights
  • Deuces & Joker
  • Double Double Bonus
  • Joker Poker (kings or better)
  • Bonus Poker Deluxe
  • Double Joker
  • Deuces Wild
  • Louisiana Double

Table Games

Spin Palace Table Games

Last but not least, the Table games selection is wonderful at Spin Palace. Personally, I have become a big fan of Baccarat over the last few years; at first, I was very intimidated by the game, but now that I have a complete understanding of it, I can see why it is so popular. The Baccarat game at Spin palace is excellent, with speedy graphics and a clear description of what is going on (helpful if you don’t play the game often).

Aside from baccarat, you can check out all the following games in the Table games section of the casino lobby:

  • Vegas single deck Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • Vegas Strip Blackjack
  • Bonus Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Gold Blackjack
  • Vegas Downtown Blackjack
  • Hi-Lo 13 European Blackjack
  • European Gold Blackjack
  • European Blackjack Redeal
  • Classic Blackjack
  • Premier High Streak Blackjack
  • Red Dog
  • Roulette
  • 3 Card Poker
  • Craps
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Keno
  • Sic Bo
  • Crown and Anchor
  • Cyberstud Poker
  • Double Exposure
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Spanish Blackjack

Promotions

This area of all my Palace group reviews follows the same theme. I am not sure why the marketing department only promotes a Welcome Bonus to their players; having a series of ongoing promotions, no matter the size would go a long way to extending the lifespan of a real money player on their site. At any rate, here is the description of the Welcome Bonus for Spin Palace:

  • 1st Deposit: 100% match up to $250
  • 2nd Deposit: 25% match up to $300
  • 3rd Deposit: 50% match up to $450

This means if you max out the offer, you can receive $1,000 in bonuses. That sounds nice on the outset, but when you dig into the Terms and Conditions of the promotion, you find out that the wagering requirement is a staggering 50x the bonus, meaning you will have to make $50,000 of wagers to clear the entire thing. That seems a lot even by my standards.

Banking

There are many options for you when it comes to getting your money to and from the site. I always lean towards the e-wallet solutions; once you have an account, you can use it at almost any site and the withdrawal times are significantly shorter than other available methods.

Comp Program

The Spin Palace Comp Program is a relatively standard program when it comes to the details. For every $10 you wager in the casino, you will receive 1 comp point. These points can be redeemed at a rate of 100 points for $1 of real money (note that the minimum number of points required to cash in is 1,000). As you will see with our review of the VIP program, you have the opportunity to earn bonus points (up to 60% more) by advancing through the different tiers.

VIP Program

Spin Palace VIP Header

Spin Palace has a very detailed VIP Program in place to try to keep you as a loyal player. This program has multiple tiers, and the website outlines exactly what each tier offers. This handy chart shows you how each level breaks down from a qualification and rewards standpoint:

Personally, I am impressed with certain perks such as traveling to meet your VIP manager, which happens as early as the 5,000 point level. All of these rewards are laid out very well, and the six tiers make it a program that everyone has a chance to move through without significant difficulty. If you happen to be one of these Diamond or Prive players, I would love to hear your experience so we can fold it into our review of the program.

Customer Service

There is no issue with trying to get a hold of the customer support team at Spin Palace, as they have someone ready to respond to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The best way to contact them, in my opinion, is the Live Chat feature, which you can access on the top right-hand corner of every page of the website. An agent will walk you through your issue and hopefully come up with a solution quickly for you so you can get back to playing your favorite games.

If you would like to hear a live voice and don’t mind paying some long distance charges, then you could try giving them a call on their telephone number, or you could also email them if you have a query that doesn’t fit into a chat window.

Would I Play at Spin Palace?

Of all the Palace Group brands, I have always been partial to Spin Palace. Now, with the addition of a full sportsbook to the mix, there is no question I would recommend this site to my readers. While I would like to see some more promotions to keep players active, I am not concerned about that for my personal play, and I am more focused on becoming one of the Prive VIP players so I can unlock all those great rewards. With many payment options available, and 24/7 customer service, Spin Palace does the job for me, and I am sure they will be a great fit for you as well.
