2022 LoL Worlds Quarterfinals Odds and Betting Picks

Lol, Worlds, Quarterfinals, Dragon, Gaming

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship group stage is now over. South Korea and China have been as dominant as ever, grabbing seven out of the eight knockout spots. Rogue was the only team from a different region that somehow qualified for the next stage.

The LoL Worlds Quarterfinals betting odds are already available, so let’s explore them and find the best betting picks for the upcoming matches. They will be played in the best-of-five format between October 21 and 24.

JD Gaming vs. Rogue Betting Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • JD Gaming to win; -1667
  • Rogue to win; +726
  • JD Gaming (-2.5); -122
  • Rogue (+2.5); -109
  • Over 3.5; -101
  • Under 3.5; -132

No one expects wonders from Rogue against JD Gaming. Winning even a single game would be an achievement, if you trust the latest odds for the LoL Worlds Quarterfinals, and it’s easy to see why.

Important:

Korean and Chinese teams have been extremely dominant, but Rogue has been great in the Worlds, too. After the first week, the team was 3-0 up, ahead of Korean powerhouse DRX and the second-best Chinese side from the LPL 2022 Summer Playoffs, Top Esports.

The second week was much bumpier, but Rogue did enough to reach the knockouts. It was a hard-fought achievement, but it gets even tougher now. Rogue will face the big favorite, JD Gaming, next. The Chinese squad looked unstoppable before losing the last group stage match against DWG KIA.

This forced a close tiebreaker, but JD Gaming won to secure the top spot in the group.

I don’t think Rogue can beat an opponent of that caliber in a best-of-five series, but winning at least one game is a realistic target.

There’s no pressure on the Europeans to perform, and we saw they can hold their own against some of the best in the world. I expect a much closer match than the latest odds suggest.

JD Gaming should eventually win, but getting -101 for this clash to feature more than three games looks like a solid bet.

  • My Pick: Over 3.5; -101

Gen.G vs. DWG KIA Betting Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • G to win; -385
  • DWG KIA to win; +269
  • G (-1.5); -167
  • DWG KIA (+1.5); +112
  • Over 3.5; -200
  • Under 3.5; +148

DWG KIA changed their roster after finishing second in last year’s Worlds from the position of the undisputed favorite in the tournament. With the likes of Khan, Ghost, and BeryL gone, the start of 2022 was rough.

The former LCK champions finished third in the Spring cycle and fourth in the Summer. They had to go through regional qualifiers for the Worlds, and the overall expectations going into the finals were fairly low.

Futher Info:

The latest odds of the top LoL betting sites are still based on DWG KIA’s inconsistent form, but I’m not sure that’s fair. The team was great in the group stages and almost finished above JD Gaming which should count for something.

Sure, Gen.G has been much better in 2022 and already beat DWG KIA multiple times, but is the gap really that big in the Worlds? Both teams finished with a 5-1 record, and you could argue that DWG KIA did it in a more competitive group.

I can understand why Gen.G is still the favorite, but I expect a close clash. The underdogs can definitely win two games, so getting +112 for that to happen is among the best LoL Worlds Quarterfinals betting picks.

  • DWG KIA (+1.5); +112

DRX vs. Edward Gaming Betting Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • DRX to win; +134
  • Edward Gaming to win; -175
  • DRX (+1.5); -156
  • Edward Gaming (-1.5); +117
  • Over 4.5; +173
  • Under 4.5; -238

This is the only LoL Worlds 2022 quarterfinal that doesn’t feature a big favorite. Most people expect Edward Gaming to win, but no one will be shocked to see DRX in the next round.

Note:

The Korean team came out on top of Group C against Rogue, Top Esports, and GAM Esports. It’s a strong company, so finishing first definitely is an achievement, especially for a team that started from the Play-In.

DRX dominated everyone in the preliminaries, including Royal Never Give Up. That’s a 2-1 record against Chinese opponents in the Worlds, so Edward Gaming should be careful.

The reigning League of Legends World Champions started 2022 in very poor form, so it looked unlikely for them to defend the title. The team struggled in the LPL for most of the season, but the Summer Playoffs and the Regional Finals showed that Edward Gaming is improving.

The performance in the group stage was solid enough for second place in Group A. The Chinese squad only lost against T1, and there’s no shame in that.

You could find arguments to back both sides, and this clash truly looks unpredictable. That’s why getting +173 for over 4.5 maps is too good to skip. I can see this match going to the wire.

  • Over 4.5; +173

Since I promised to share my LoL Worlds quarterfinals predictions, I feel obliged to pick one of the teams too. It’s a tough call, but I expect Edward Gaming to just edge it. The team has been on a positive trajectory recently and has the potential to hit another gear for the knockouts.

T1 vs. Royal Never Give Up Betting Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • T1 to win; -263
  • RNG to win; +194
  • T1 (-1.5); -120
  • RNG (+1.5); -110
  • Over 3.5; -238
  • Under 3.5; +173

Another Play-In team made it to the knockouts. RNG had solid performances so far and finished second in Group D after a tiebreaker against GenG. The mere fact that RNG won a game against the big favorite is quite telling, but the Chinese squad was demolished in the deciding clash.

RNG will face another top Korean team next as a result of finishing second. T1 has been among the most impressive squads in the LoL Worlds 2022 so far and secured the top spot in Group A with a game to spare.

You can add the excellent performance in LCK this season, and it’s easy to see why T1 is expected to win here. RNG is good enough to win a game, but I don’t see more than that for the underdog.

  • My Pick: T1 (-1.5); -120
