The PDC World Darts Championship is the most prestigious tournament in the world. It’s where dreams come true, at least since 1994.

The PDC World Darts Championship is also the perfect opportunity for van Gerwen to end his dry spell. His numbers since September suggest that he’s in the best form of his career. It seems only inevitable that he wins something massive soon.

Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price is already a world champion, and he’s having one of the best seasons of any player in 2022. He also finished runner-up at the 2022 World Matchplay, and he made it to the semifinals of the 2022 Premier League.

Getting +600 for him is one of the better options because Price is a proven champion. He can beat anyone on a good day.

Michael Smith

World Championships: 0

With two runner-up finishes in his career, Michael Smith has a lot of motivation to win a PDC World Darts Championship. He’s also going to be one of the more entertaining players to watch during the tournament.

Smith won his first PDC event this year – he’s the 2022 Grand Slam of Darts champion. The Englishman’s confidence will be high, so I expect more of the same in the World Championship.

Best Darts World Championship Sleepers for 2023

You should always pay attention to potential sleepers when working on your PDC Darts World Championship predictions. The following contestants can definitely beat the favorites and snatch the title.

Jonny Clayton (+1600). Many people believe Clayton is due for a world title. His incredible comeback victory against Gerwyn Price at the 2022 World Series of Darts Finals was also something to behold.
Rob Cross (+2500). Cross is in peak form right now, and he was nearly unbeatable during the Euros. I’m also certain that he can turn things around after disappointing finishes in Wolverhampton and Minehead.

Remember that there hasn’t been a repeat winner since Gary Johnson in 2015 and 2016. Also, we haven’t seen a prolific competitor in PDC events since Phil Taylor. Taylor is a 16-time world champion who’s appeared in 19 PDC World Darts Championship Finals.
