I am often reviewing casinos that claim to have targeted only one particular country, only to find out that players from most countries can actually create accounts and play for real money. You can imagine then when I started my review of Sports Interaction, who claim to be a Canada-only operation, I had a skeptical view of this position.

What I found is a great site featuring multiple products and platforms, but can you access it from outside Canada? Let’s try to find out.

About Sports Interaction

Sports Interaction Logo Header

Sports Interaction has been in business since 1997 and was started in Canada. In fact, Sports Interaction was the first online gambling site licensed by the Kahnawakee Gaming Commission. Back in 1997, the native tribe decided to make a foray into the online gambling world by creating a hosting facility and regulatory board on their sovereign land, claiming it was not bound by the laws of the Canadian government. After writing the licensing laws, a huge influx of online operators flocked to the jurisdiction, but there can only be one to be first, and that distinction will always be held by this site.

There isn’t much information on the background of the ownership group, but suffice it to say that being in business for two decades and staying clear of any of the truly dangerous gaming markets puts this site in a different class than many in the North American market.

Who Can Play at Sports Interaction?

Canadians. That’s who. Seriously, there are no other players that are allowed to register a real money account at this site aside from those overly-friendly folks who live north of the United States. To take a position like this severely limits how much money a site can make, but it also eliminates all the regulatory risk essentially from the operation. There are no plans currently to expand the client base outside of Canada, but it could happen with any changes to the regulatory climate in the U.S.

Software Suppliers

Even though the play is limited to Canadians, that hasn’t stopped Sports Interaction from partnering with some of the top software suppliers out there. They have a bespoke sportsbook product, which isn’t too shocking considering that they have been in business longer than most software companies have. For their casino, the site is partnering with several suppliers including Playtech, and iSoftbet. This gives players an incredibly wide assortment of games to choose from as you will see in the detailed casino review.

The casino also uses Playtech for its poker offering and Live Dealer casino. Overall, I am very pleased with the selections Sports Interaction has made for their site.

The Good Stuff and The Bad

PROS

Cons

  • Payout Times
  • Only CANADIANS??

Crazy Amount of Sports Betting Options

As you are about to read in more detail, there really isn’t much in the way of sports that you won’t find a line on at Sports Interaction. It really was quite shocking to see all the leagues that you are able to place wagers on; they have taken the top prize for Canadians with regards to choice when it comes to sports betting.

Playtech Content

Those of you who have played at a Playtech casino already know this, but their content is really second to none in the software space. The company made the decision early on to provide its licensees with the best-developed platform on the market; they did not disappoint. Between the licensing arrangements with entertainment powerhouses like DC Comics and the spectacular in-house graphics development, the end result is a wonderful player experience.

Payout Times

Now, given that they only service the Canadian market, I would have thought they would have been able to speed up the payment times. However, it still takes a bit longer to receive your payment. This may seem a bit picky on my part, but trust me, when you win a prize, you will want to have access to that cash as soon as possible.

Only CANADIANS??

Of all the countries to be restricted to, Canada is shocking. Only 35 million people are living in the country, so maybe if you really want to play at Sports Interaction you could just move there! Seriously though, as you will read, it is a total bummer that more people can’t play here.

Sportsbook

Wow. The sports area of the site is simply outstanding. Starting with the easy navigation to all the different types of bets available, this operator really has something for everyone. While sports betting might not be your cup of tea, it sure is mine, so when I looked at all that was offered, my jaw hit the floor. Have a look at the leagues and event you can bet on at Sports Interaction:

  • Football
  • Aussie Rules Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Curling
  • Darts
  • eSports
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Hockey
  • Horse Racing
  • Lacrosse
  • Motor Racing
  • Olympics
  • Cycling
  • Rugby
  • Snooker
  • Soccer
  • Specials
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball

Seriously, have you EVER seen a list this long of sports you can bet on? For me, aside from being able to bet on so many leagues that aren’t the top tier of each sport, the fact that you can now bet on eSports at this site is a sign that the company knows what the future holds. There will likely be way more young people gambling on the popular video game tournaments than on 4th division women’s volleyball in short order…

I am going to start with the slots selection because with the Playtech titles alone, you are going to find at minimum dozens of games you are going to want to try. Table Games

Sports Interaction Table Games

The Playtech table games display high speed and graphics and allow you to immerse yourself into the game of your choice. Add in the games being offered by iSoftBet, and you end up with different looking versions of the same game. A lot of players (myself included) like the idea of being able to switch up the look and feel of a table in the middle of a session, and you will definitely be able to do that here. Video Poker

Sports Interaction Video Poker Games

You will not be disappointed when you hit the video Poker section of the casino lobby; you are going to find a great number of variants, with multi-hand options for many of them. The great thing about video Poker is that if you play the right game with the best pay table, you can actually swing the odds ever so slightly into your favor. While that doesn’t guarantee a winning session, it sure does give you more confidence knowing you aren’t already under the gun.

Look at the choices you have in the video poker lobby:

  • Aces and Faces
  • Aces and Faces (4 Hands)
  • Aces and Faces (25 Hands)
  • 10’s or Better
  • 2 Ways Royal
  • All American
  • Deuces Wild

  • Jacks or Better (4 Hands)
  • Jacks or Better (50 Hands)
  • Jacks or Better Progressive

  • Jacks or Better Multi Hand (1, 4, 10, 25, 50, or 100 Hands)
  • Jacks or Better

  • Joker Poker Kings or Better (50 Hands)
  • Mega Jacks Progressive
  • Pick ‘Em Poker
  • Pick ‘Em Poker (10 Hands)
  • Two Way Royal

Live Dealer Casino

Sports Interaction Live Casino Games

With the addition of the excellent games from Playtech, Sports Interaction has rounded out their impressive casino with the interactive Live Dealer tables. If you haven’t tried these games yet, stop what you are doing (I guess that means reading this review) and head over to the casino to give them a try. I promise you the first time you watch a dealer on a webcam flip over comically-large cards for you, you will be hooked!

You can select from the following games that all feature a live dealer:

  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Casino Hold’Em
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’Em
  • Three Card Poker

Poker

One of the perks of being a casino licensee of Playtech is that they tend to throw in an installation of their poker software for little cost. The reason for this is that they need players to fill their iPoker network, especially since they don’t take U.S. players anymore. The bottom line with this network is that it is filled with average players, so if you think you have some game, you can take advantage of having one wallet to connect your sportsbook, casino and poker balances.

Promotions

For a site with so many game options, it is surprising not to see some more promotions available to players. I suppose this can be chalked up to the site only catering to the Canadian market, but I would still like to see some more ongoing promotions. Here is a couple of offers I would like to highlight in more detail:

Welcome Bonus

Most sites offer one standard Welcome Bonus to players regardless of how many products they offer. The folks at Sports Interaction took this a step further, understanding that each game has a different set of rules and therefore the same bonuses don’t necessarily make sense. When you are ready to make your first deposit at this site, you should choose wisely based on what product you plan to use the most.

The site offers a 100% Welcome Bonus to the following maximums:

  • Poker: $600
  • Sports: $125
  • Casino: $1,000

The 100% up to $1,000 bonus listed above is unique to this site, so please take advantage of it, because you won’t get it elsewhere. Of course, each comes with their own set of Terms and Conditions; you can check the website for full details. However, you cannot switch once you make your decision, so make sure you have given it some thought before entering the bonus code.

Refer a Friend

This bonus is a little different than others I have seen, as they are offering a match bonus based on the amount your friend deposits. Usually, a site will give you a flat rate no matter what the friend does. In this scenario, you can earn more money, and you are also motivated to convince your friends to make the max qualifying deposit of $100. That is a very smart way for the casino to get you to take on some of the marketing for them!

The remainder of the bonuses I see are reload bonuses. I hope to find more ongoing promotions across the platform as the football season gets underway as this offering is a little lacking.

Banking

While we discussed some of the issues with regards to timing for payouts, one thing that cannot be denied is that there are many options for Canadian players to make their deposits and withdrawal requests. Players can expect to be dinged with a small fee to process withdrawals; this is pretty standard practice in the industry.

Deposit Options

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Interac Etransfer
  • Instadebit
  • iDebit
  • Instant Banking
  • eCheck
  • PaysafeCard
  • NeoSurf
  • EcoPayz
  • Interac Online

Withdrawal Options

  • iDebit
  • Instadebit
  • Instant Banking
  • Wire Transfer
  • eCheck
  • EcoPayz
  • Visa
  • Interac Etransfer

Customer Service

I always love to see a Live Chat button available in the corner of a webpage. This gives me a degree of security knowing that at the very least if I have a problem then I am able to reach out to someone immediately (whether or not they can actually help is a different matter).

Aside from the Live Chat feature, you can also contact the Customer Service team at Sports Interaction via email, or by telephone should you wish. I will tell you that the site has a fantastic, detailed Help Center, and if you spend a few minutes in there you are likely going to find the answer to your query.

Would I Play at Sports Interaction?

Well, seeing that I currently live in Canada, the answer to this question is a resounding yes. Despite the lack of ongoing promotions, I cannot deny the sheer excitement I get from being able to bet on obscure sports leagues from around the world. Add in a healthy dose of poker tournaments and some of the best casino software in the industry, and the overall experience is exactly what I am looking for. So, if you fancy living in Vancouver, Toronto or even Calgary, one additional benefit is that you will be able to play your heart out at Sports Interaction!
