When the online casino industry in North America had a seismic shift in 2006 with the introduction of UIGEA, it left many casino operators in the wind as leading software suppliers pulled up stakes.  This was a real fork in the road for operators; many fell by the wayside, while others picked themselves up and continued to fight for their share of the market.

The owners of Treasure Mile Casino found themselves right in the middle of this event; as you will see from this review, they managed to pull themselves from the wreckage and forged ahead, creating and launching this brand along the way.

About Treasure Mile Casino

Treasure Mile Casino Banner

Treasure Mile was launched in 2009 and is owned and operated by Genesys Technology Group. The parent company has been in the industry for well over a decade; they used to have their casino brands on the Microgaming platform before that vendor decided to pull out of the U.S. market in 2006. At that time, Genesys moved on to new software, as well as changing its licensing jurisdiction to Curacao. The Curacao government remained loyal to companies who were taking U.S. play even after changes in legislation in 2006, which makes it an attractive option for operators who continue to work in the “gray” area of the business.

Treasure Mile is part of a group of casinos operated by Genesys, including Mandarin Palace, Wizbet, Grand Eagle and Lucky Creek. Having this many brands gives Genesys the opportunity to cross-promote to their database; each casino has a distinctly different theme.

Who Can Play at Treasure Mile Casino

The good news for those of you who found the homepage of the site to be attractive enough to read this review or consider playing at the casino is that Treasure Mile is open to almost everyone around the world. Specifically, if you live in the U.S., you are not restricted from making a deposit here.

The list of restricted countries currently includes the following:

  • Bangladesh
  • Brazil
  • Croatia
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • United Kingdom

Software Suppliers

Jumba Bet Casino, along with all the Genesys Group of casinos, are powered by Saucify. Many of you may not be familiar with the Saucify name; I certainly hadn’t heard much about them before reviewing this casino. Saucify started in 2006 under a different name, BetOfSoft. In an attempt to be more modern, the company changed names in 2014 and continue to use the Saucify brand today.

The Saucify games at Treasure Mile casino are available either through a downloadable client or in Instant Play format. The Instant Play games have also been formatted for mobile play, allowing you to play them on any of your tablets or phones.

The Good Stuff

Tournaments

Green Thumbs Up

I love casinos that offer their players tournaments as an option. Not only is this an excellent way to have ongoing promotions, but it is also a nice change of pace for players who would normally be sitting at a table or a slot machine by themselves.

While the tournaments aren’t easy to find (you have to log in to your account and then go to the lobby to find them), several weekly events are running so you will always have a chance to jump in and maybe win a little more cash than you already are at the games themselves!

Different Software

Although the Saucify stable of games isn’t nearly as robust as some of their competitors in the U.S.-facing casino market, the fact that they don’t have that many clients means you likely haven’t played their games before. I have reviewed so many Real Time Gaming and Betsoft casinos that it was refreshing to see a different looking series of games at Treasure Mile. At the very least that is a reason to give these guys a shot.

The Bad Stuff

Withdrawal Restrictions

Red Thumbs Down

When you make a deposit at a casino, you are aware of the risk that you could lose your money; it is, after all, a gambling site. However, an online casino is essentially a bank; you make a deposit, you can see your balance at any time, and when you want to take your money out, you ask for a withdrawal. Treasure Mile has placed restrictions on the maximum you can cash out on a weekly basis. I think this kind of behavior is completely bogus. A casino will tell you it is to protect itself from scammers; they already have processes in place to check for illicit play before they approve the withdrawal, so why the further restrictions?

I hate when a casino then changes the limit based on your VIP status as they do at Treasure Mile. This makes no sense; all players should be treated equally when it comes to their money. I understand that VIPs should get perks for being loyal, but increased withdrawal limits isn’t a privilege, it is a right. I hope the casino comes to its senses and changes this policy.

Legacy Issues

In researching Treasure Mile and their parent company Genesys, it became apparent that the group has had its issues in the past with another one of their brands, Grand Prive. It appears that there was some concern about the ownership and their shady dealings with affiliates when they were a licensee of Microgaming. While this was a long time ago and it does not appear they have the same issues with the affiliates of their new brands, it still leaves me a little concerned about their future business dealings. I won’t go as far as blacklisting the group, but I will be keeping my eye out for any similar patterns with this group of casinos.

Slots

Treasure Mile Slots Options

If you like slots, then you have already hit the jackpot with Treasure Mile. The Saucify software is slots-heavy, and the HD games feature great graphics and excellent pay line structures. While there aren’t as many jackpot games as some of the other casinos out there, you are still going to have your pick of many different themes; I have no doubt that you will find a slot game you will enjoy in the Treasure Mile lobby. Table Games

As someone who has spent years reviewing online casinos and their software partners, I can safely place Treasure Mile right in the middle of the pack. My main concern with them is the lack of selection when it comes to their Table Games. Compared to many of their competitors, the Treasure Mile offering is not nearly as robust. While the Saucify games themselves are well built, there just aren’t as many options as you might find at another casino.

Here is what you will find in the Table Games lobby of the casino:

  • European Roulette
  • Punto Banco Baccarat
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Blackjack: Elite Edition
  • European Blackjack
  • European Blackjack: Elite Edition
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • Single Deck Blackjack: Elite Edition
  • Vegas Strip Blackjack
  • Three Card Poker
  • Vegas Strip Blackjack: Elite Edition
  • Three Card Poker: Elite Edition
  • Baccarat
  • Craps

Video Poker

Unlike the underwhelming set of Table Games at Treasure Mile casino, they have a great selection of video poker variants. For the fans of this game, you will find all the standards here with very competitive pay tables. I like the look and feel of the Saucify video poker machines; they are very similar to many of the games I would play for hours on my business trips to Las Vegas. For some reason they have chosen not to add the multi-hand versions of these games that are available at other sister casinos; that is fine because most of you will want to play the single hand option.

Here are all the video poker variants at Treasure Mile Casino:

  • Aces & Faces Poker
  • Bonus Deuces Wild Poker
  • Bonus Poker Deluxe
  • Bonus Poker
  • Deuces & Joker Poker
  • Deuces Wild Poker
  • Double Bonus Poker
  • Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Jacks Or Better Poker
  • Joker Poker
  • Rocket Jacks Poker
  • Triple Double Bonus Poker

Specialty Games

The casino doesn’t offer much selection in the way of Specialty Games. If you like to play a scratch card every once in a while, then you are in luck. Otherwise, I would just ignore this part of the Treasure Mile Casino lobby.

  • Berry Picker Scratch Card
  • Captain Keno
  • Classic Keno
  • Lucky Scratch Scratch Card
  • Powerball Keno

Promotions

The majority of the promotions at Treasure Mile are joint promotions that run all across the Genesys casino brands. I actually like the fact that they are pooling the promotion budget; it means that the prizing is higher across the board, which is an excellent bonus for all the company’s players.

Welcome Bonus

A pretty standard Welcome Bonus offer from Treasure Mile and the other Genesys brands; 100% match bonus on your first deposit up to a maximum of $500. One thing to watch here though: the first deposit bonus cannot be cleared in table games. This is a sneaky way to control the amount of bonus being rewarded, but it isn’t an uncommon practice, and I am happy to see that they are completely up front about it.

Ongoing Promotions

We already talked about the weekly tournaments that Treasure Mile is running; this is an excellent recurring promotion that rewards the most loyal of players in those specific games. A quick glance at the Genesys Club promotions page (where you are redirected when you click on a promotional banner on the Treasure Mile site) shows a series of great promotions they have been running.

At the time of this review, the company was running a Summer Series of promotions and bonuses. I love the idea of this offer; it gives players incentive to come back weekly for a new offer, and the creativity that went into the concept and theme of the promotion shows me that the marketing department takes their job very seriously.

Another promotional idea that I personally love is offering tangible goods as prizes. All too often, an online casino will pour all your winnings into bonus dollars or cash that you are restricted from withdrawing; Treasure Mile has a whole bunch of different promotions that give away things from lunch vouchers to trips. These prizes don’t have to be massive to make an impact; players love to receive rewards, and these offers set Treasure Mile apart from many of their competitors.

Banking

Genesis Technology has entered into relationships with many well-known payment providers, and as a result, there are several different options available to you at Treasure Mile casino. We have not seen any complaints by players regarding issues with payments, so that is always encouraging. However, as stated earlier, the weekly cash out limits are always suspicious, and so you need to take that into consideration before making your deposit.

Deposit Methods

  • Bank Wire Transfer
  • Maestro
  • MasterCard
  • Neteller
  • Paysafe Card

Comp Program

Although the players at Treasure Mile collect points while they are playing real money casino games, these points are only used to determine VIP status and are not currently able to be cashed in for real money. I hope this is something that will change soon as I am a big believer in the extra bump that comes from these bonus comps.

VIP Program

Genesys Club VIP Banner

Treasure Mile shares a loyalty program with its sister casinos. The Genesys Club is a loyalty and rewards program designed to reward their most loyal players with lavish gifts, exclusive bonus offers and a higher level of personalized service.

Several tiers make up the Genesys Club VIP program. Here is an overview of how to qualify for each level and some of the benefits of achieving each level of status.

How to Get to the Gold:

  • Sign up at Treasure Mile
  • Make your first deposit to get onto the Bronze tier (every wager earns you points)
  • Earn points between 3,000 and 49,999 to be in the Bronze tier

Work your way up to the Silver tier (and even more perks):

  • Earn points between 50,000 and 499,999 to be on the Silver tier

Keep on playing (and winning!) and soon you’ll reach the Gold tier:

  • Earn points between 500,000 to 4,999,999, and you’ll make it to the Gold tier!

Higher casino rewards:

  • A higher loyalty point earn rate
  • Exclusive VIP offers

But why stop there?

Earn points above 5,000,000 to reach Platinum – our most spectacular of loyalty program tiers. As a Platinum player, you will receive the largest casino bonuses of all, an even higher loyalty earn rate, and special VIP gifts and offers from time to time. Your every play earns you the very best value in online gaming entertainment at Treasure Mile Online Casino.

One thing I noticed when looking at the site for the Genesys loyalty program is that when you create an account with any of their casinos, the username and password can be used on all their different brands.

Customer Service

If I am having an issue with an online casino, I first head to their website to see if I can find the answer in their FAQ section. Most customer service problems tend to be the same, so a smart casino will direct their players to this area of their site to lighten the load on their in-house CS team. The FAQ section of the Treasure Mile website is not bad, but they could spend some more time adding to the section and reduce the number of calls and emails even further.

If you can’t find what you are looking for in the FAQ, then you can reach the casino by phone using their toll-free number, or use their Live Chat function. They can also be contacted by email, and they have separate email addresses for the different areas of the company so you can get a faster, more direct response. All the addresses are listed on their website.

Would I Play at Treasure Mile Casino?

This is a tough one for me to answer. While I do like the fact that not many operators use the Saucify software, making it a bit more “novel” than other U.S.-facing casinos, the bottom line is that there just aren’t as many games for you to play. The promotional arm of the Genesys Group has put together a ton of great ongoing offers for players at their casinos, so if you do decide to make a deposit, then there will be something for you to try aside from just playing the games.

Overall, I am going to give these guys a middle-of-the-road recommendation; you can find better casinos out there, but you aren’t going to be disappointed by what you see when you get to Treasure Mile Casino.
