What happens when you combine a passion for Internet gambling with a trio of enterprising Swedes (including Betsson co-founders Henrik Bergquist and Fredrik Sidfalk)? In one such case, the resulting mixture became Mr. Green, a leading site for online gaming.

Based on the island of Malta and operating since 2008, this casino website is available in multiple nations and has been publicly traded on the Swedish securities marketplace known as AktieTorget. But despite their growing popularity, there are still players who aren’t aware of what the site has to offer. That’s where my Mr Green Casino review comes into play.

Award-Winning Casino

One indication of a casino’s quality is the number of industry awards they’ve managed to win over the years. In the case of Mr Green, here are some of the more significant accolades:

  • Listed among the Topp 100 by Internetworld in 2009 through 2014
  • Named Socially Responsible Operator of the Year by eGaming Review in 2012
  • Named Online Casino Operator of the Year by the International Gaming Awards in 2013, 2014, and 2015
  • Awarded Highly Commended Slots Operator of the Year by eGaming Review in 2014
  • Named Casino Brand of the Year by eGaming Review in 2014

How Good Is Mr Green's Software?

Younger online gamblers may not remember, but casinos in years past were powered by a single type of software. That’s changed in recent years, as growing competition has resulted in sites bringing in multiple designers and bundling their products together for the convenience of the customer. The latter is the case with Mr Green, as they offer games from each of the following companies: NetEnt, IGT, NextGen, Microgaming, Quickspin, Bally, Quickfire, Play’N Go, Yggdrasil, Evolution Gaming, and Edict.

I’ve been using the site since 2013, and I’ve never encountered any technical problems. All games function properly without pauses or lags, and the audio/visual presentation is crisp and clean. The constant presence of the enigmatic Mr. Green mascot is also novel, as he looks like a combination of a sophisticated gentleman and a Batman villain.

Another plus is that the site uses no-download Flash software. This allows you to play from any browser, whether it’s your own Mac or the PC at the local Internet café. I’m a major supporter of this option, as I feel less constrained about where I can do my gambling.

Mr Green is also a major destination for mobile players, and they were honored as the Best Mobile Casino in the World at the 2016 International Gaming Awards. Both Apple and Android customers can download the mobile app, and live roulette and blackjack are included along with a suite of traditional favorites. Exclusive bonuses are also included for app players, which is a smart way to encourage further patronage. Best of all, there are more than 300 games to choose from, which is significantly higher than the amount provided by most casinos.

Prohibited Countries

Almost all online casinos keep a list of restricted nations, and Mr Green is no different. They currently prevent over 100 different nations from playing at their casino, which is the largest list I’ve ever seen. I won’t list them all, but some examples include the following: United States, Costa Rica, Spain, Denmark, India, France, Greece, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and South Africa.

I’m not sure why Mr Green’s list of restricted nations is larger than the competition. I get the sense whoever wrote the list is being extra thorough and including every nation that prohibits online gambling. Then again, maybe they just hate people who live in Martinique and Cameroon (just kidding).

How to Fund Your Play

When you’re ready to make a deposit, the following options are available: Visa, MasterCard, direct bank transfer, e-wallet, PaySafe. With the exception of the direct bank transfer, all of these transactions are processed instantly. In the case of the lone exception, you can expect your money to be deposited within 24 hours.

Because of “regulatory requirements,” Mr. Green requires customers to make withdrawals with the same method they used for deposits. If the customer is unable or unwilling to do so, then the only other option is to have it transferred to a bank account. This means the available withdrawal methods include Visa, MasterCard, direct bank transfer, and e-wallet services.

Players receive one free withdrawal during a seven-day period. If another withdrawal is requested during this time period, then a fee is charged. For smaller requests, this can range from a single euro to 20 Czech Republic koruna. Larger withdrawals result in a 1% fee, with the maximum ranging from 10 for euros and British pounds to 200 for Czech currency.

Getting a Bonus

The welcome package for Mr Green offers bonuses on your first four deposits. Your initial deposit results in a 100% matching bonus up to 100 euros, as well as 100 free spins on their signature slot, Mr Green Moonlight (which has a cool supernatural theme involving hunting werewolves).

The second deposit is 50% up to 50 euros. The third is 25% up to 100 euros, and the fourth is 125% up to 100 euros.

It should be noted that the website doesn’t readily provide the wagering requirements for the above bonus, and even looking through their entire terms and conditions page didn’t result in any answers. I don’t know whether they’re intentionally trying to hide it or the designer just did a poor job. Either way, it’s important information that needs to be included.

Which Games to Choose?

Hundreds of slot machines are available from Mr. Green. Since they draw their products from a number of software providers, you can expect a healthy mix of original and licensed products. Some of my favorites include Game of Thrones, Hellboy, Zombies, and Tomb Raider.

If you like to win major sums of money, you can choose from 11 progressive jackpot games. These titles include Arabian Nights, Mega Joker, Hall of Gods, and the always-profitable Mega Moolah.

For those who prefer table games, you can find classics such as roulette and blackjack. A limited selection is available, however, which means Mr. Green favors slots above all other gaming options.

They also have a live casino with blackjack and roulette. While two games might not sound like much, they’ve included a number of variants for a total of three blackjack options and seven roulette games. Lovely female dealers are always available, and their male counterparts are also included on a more limited basis.

How Mr Green Services Customers

The customer service team is available 24/7, and this even extends to major holidays. They can be reached via phone, email, or live chat, which should be more than enough options for any customer.

If you’re not in a hurry, email is the best method. All queries are answered within 24 hours, and I’ve usually received a reply in under two hours. For those in a rush, the phone and live chat versions give you an instant connection to representatives who are polite, professional, and eager to assist.

Finally

If you’re obsessed with slots and mobile gaming, then Mr. Green Casino is definitely worth a look. The site has repeatedly been recognized with industry awards for their overall quality, and their mobile casino app is light years ahead of the competition. The site also has a slick, eye-catching design, although most other areas of the casino hover around the industry average.
