Box24 Casino has been around since 2009, and are owned and operated by the Engage Entertainment Group out of Antigua and Barbuda, a division of the Deckmedia Group of companies. Deckmedia owns and operates 17 different online casinos (as of this review), and they are licensed in Curacao. A Curacao license isn’t exactly the greatest news for players, but it is at least a license, so it means that the Deckmedia people at least have their books in order.

Box 24 Casino uses multiple different software suppliers. This can be quite pleasing to players as different vendors tend to have a different look and feel, giving players options within the same casino. At the time of this review, Box 24 Casino is using the following software for their offering:  Betsoft, Pragmatic Play (formerly TopGame), Visionary I-Gaming and Octopus Gaming.

Lobby Navigation

Sometimes it can be overwhelming when you log in to an online casino. With so many options, and there can be hundreds of games to choose from, just getting started can be a turn off to many players. At Box 24 Casino, they try to give you a clearer path to the games you like and the ones you may have never tried with a sortable lobby page.

With the sortable lobby, you can toggle between tabs like New Games, Games by Supplier, Games in Alphabetical Order, Featured Games and much more. I for one LOVE this kind of lobby, because I don’t have to waste time scrolling around looking for a title or a table game the casino may not even have. Congratulations to the developers that wrote the code for this lobby area…I hope other casinos copy your idea!

Mobile and Instant Play Games

In this day and age, having to download a piece of software to your computer is pretty much a non-starter for a lot of folks, myself included, so it is nice to see that Box 24 offers their games in an instant play mode. For a long, while their casino was download-only, so it seems they have figured out that the rest of the world had moved on and now they are in a competitive position in the very cluttered online casino industry.

Mobile accessibility is super important to me, and so it is nice to see that Box 24 Casino offers a broad range of their games modified to fit the screens and operating systems of most major mobile phone brands. The games I tried were quick, had excellent animation and sound, and left me feeling splendid (even if they left my balance a little lighter…).

Customer Service

Box 24 Casino seems to have a focus on keeping their customers happy by ensuring that they are reachable at all times. They offer 24/7 customer service by both email and live chat. The live chat option is only available to real money account holders, but to be honest who needs free play junkies clogging up the customer service lines (more on that later).

One other feature that I like is that the FAQ section of the Box 24 website is actually quite helpful. I like to consider myself quite resourceful, and I don’t need a lot of hand-holding when it comes to making my way around an online casino, so it’s nice to see clear FAQ pages with simple answers.

Casinos always come with some complaints, and Box 24 is no exception. In trying to provide you with a very honest review of any casino, I had a look through all the different forum sites as well as combing through the pages and pages of terms and conditions to find the most annoying parts of their site.

• VIP Master Level Members have a custom maximum withdrawal limit per  week

On top of this, there is a hefty amount of information you need to provide to process these withdrawals. Here’s what that looks like:

• Valid government-issued photo identification card
• Copy of a recent utility bill no older than three (3) months prior to the submission date
• Front copy of the Card(s) used to fund the Account.
• Credit/Debit Card Vouchers of all cards used in the past six (6) month.

Be prepared to go just short of providing a DNA sample to get your money sent to you.

Promotion Explanation

When you walk into a casino in Las Vegas and see the MegaMIllions progressive slots, you may not know it right away, but it is explained on the slots information screen that the progressive jackpot runs across multiple casino properties. This is becoming a standard way to make jackpots grow quickly while also giving players at a smaller casino the chance to win one of the life-changing jackpots.

As mentioned, Box 24 Casino is part of a group of 17 online casinos owned by the Deckmedia group. As a result, many of the promotions are mirrored across the network. While I am not offended by this, it is very confusing to determine which of these promotions, if any, is actually a network-wide promotion or part of each individual brand.

For example, many of the Deckmedia casinos promote a 500k slots leaderboard. As someone looking for a chance to take advantage of a particularly sweet promotion, I want to know if the casino will allow me to make $1,000 deposits with each brand that offers this leaderboard, and if so am I allowed to win at multiple sites. For the life of me, I could not find out this information, which leads me to be a little suspicious of what I might find when and if I were to make my way on to these leaderboards.

Network promotions are totally fine with me as they create much larger prize pools. But without a clear understanding of who qualifies for these massive promotions, I will remain wary until I see some clarification from the site.

Unappealing Welcome Bonus

There is definitely a split in the casino world when it comes to Welcome Offers. Many players like to see promises of mega-bonuses on their deposits, while others just want to see a bonus that they can actually earn in the allotted timeframe. I can say that I am right in the middle of these folks; I want a promotion that can be earned in the games I like to play, but I also like to get the most for my deposit.

Box24 Casino has a pretty tame Welcome Offer, which will no doubt piss a lot of people off. Here it is:

And that seems to be it. I would like to see more details for a promotion like this, but it seems pretty tough to find on their site. As for the bonus amounts themselves, you will definitely find larger numbers on other sites, but that usually means tighter restrictions or way higher wagering requirements. Box 24’s decision to limit the maximum bonus to 200% actually shows a lot of restraint; they should be applauded for not trying to attract you with an offer that is clearly a scam.

There are a couple of things that drive me mad about online casinos. One glaring issue that I have with the folks at Box 24 Casino is that I CANNOT PLAY THE TABLE GAMES FOR PLAY MONEY. What a joke. When I first logged on to the casino, I went straight to the roulette table. I like to see and hear how a casino’s roulette game works; the speed, the animations, etc.… I just like the game to have a good look and feel.

When I selected roulette, I got a pop-up window saying I didn’t have enough money to play the game and suggesting a deposit. I didn’t want to deposit right away…I wanted to test the games. SO I started searching the site, and I figured out that I was allowed to play certain slots games for free, where I could earn bonus cash that I could then take back to play table games. This is a ridiculous way to allow players to try out games. I have sent the casino an email explaining how many customers they are likely losing because of this, and if they ever reply, I will let you all know.

It’s pretty easy: anyone who makes their first deposit in an individual month qualifies for this promotion. For example, if you made your deposit on June 1^st, you would have the remainder of the month to try to make your way up the leaderboard by playing at certain slots games. The qualifying games are listed in the promotion details and seem to change on a monthly basis. At the end of the month, the top ten players are rewarded with their share of a $1,000 prize pool!

Lucky Pots

With my background in marketing, I am always evaluating businesses to see how “sticky” their customers are; the more you can have a player come back to a site, the more likely they will spend money on a regular basis. Box 24 has an understanding of this, and they are trying to give you all a reason to come back on a regular basis by offering a series of daily promotions which they call Lucky Pots.

Unlike other casinos who have daily promotions outlined in full on their site, Box 24 Casino posts the daily bonuses each day, and they seem to be randomized. When I wrote this review, I found two special deposit bonuses that were different and more aggressive than the standard bonuses that the casino gives out every day. I like the idea of having to check back each time I am thinking about making a deposit and being rewarded for going back to the site to discover a new code.

As part of a larger group of casinos, it can be assumed that the folks at Box 24 are often in discussions about what promotions should be given to which brand. At this stage, it looks like Box 24 has taken the majority of the Black Diamond promotions, which isn’t really getting my creative juices flowing.

The good news: the casino group has been around for almost a decade. That isn’t something to take lightly; a lot of operators come and go, so we give them credit for longevity. Also, the casino has an excellent selection of slot machines titles because they are drawing from multiple vendors. Box 24 won’t blow you away with their table games, but if your goal is just having cards dealt and giving you a chance to win money, then you will be okay with these guys.

If you can get past the bland Welcome Bonus, and the ridiculous rules about withdrawing your money, then I think you would be fine making a deposit at Box 24 Casino. I know that isn’t the most incredible vote of confidence, but I told you this would be an honest review, right? Look, the bottom line for me when it comes to any online casino is the following: will you get scammed by the operator who is taking your money?
