Deposit & Payout Options
Welcome to my Sportbet.com review, folks! I’m going to take this well-known betting site for a few rounds in the octagon, and by the time you’re done reading, you’re going to find out how it stands up under pressure.
As you’ll know if you read my reviews regularly, I show no mercy when I see a site with weaknesses, and I don’t hesitate to place the sites I feel are out to scam you in merciless submissions. Of course, I keep it real both ways, and I show due respect to the worthy contenders.
That’s how this site got to be the undisputed champ of casino reviews, and that’s how I plan to keep it there. Are you ready to see if Sportbet.com is bluffing or if it really has what it takes to earn a place in the LegitGamblingSites.com hall of fame? Read on to find out.
Is Sportbet.com Legit?
Yes, Sportbet.com is legit. I know this because:
- It’s been online since 1997. No scam site would survive this long
- It’s operated by the same group which runs 5Dimes, which is a huge online sportsbook
- It has a license from Costa Rica. While this isn’t exactly the gold standard of casino licenses, it does mean some regulatory eyes are monitoring Sportbet.com
I always like to dig beneath the surface and see what I can find out about the sites I review from a business/operational standpoint. Here’s what I found out about Sportbet.com.
|Other Sites Owned||5Dimes.Eu|
|Payouts Verified By||N/A|
There have been a few complaints about Sportbet.com in the past, and some large gambling forums don’t recommend it. You should be aware of that before making a decision, although, from my point of view, they’re totally transparent, lay out their fee structures clearly, and I’m not sure what some of the fuss is about.
As with the 5Dimes site itself, this one is quirky and could be more user-friendly. It’s a big improvement on 5Dimes, though, and navigating it is a dream compared to navigating its sister site, which I once compared to an eccentric uncle in a Hawaiian shirt ranting at a funeral.
Who Can and Can’t Play at Sportbet.com?
It’s easier to list the countries which are restricted than it is to list those which can play since this site is open to almost everyone from everywhere. There are a few exceptions, though, and players from the following countries won’t be able to register here.
- United Kingdom
Yes, that means Sportbet.com is a US-friendly gambling site, and don’t worry if you’re from one of the restricted countries. We have lots of other you can choose from.
The Good Stuff
Every gambling site has its pros and cons, but I like to start things off on a positive note. Let’s look at what Sportbet.com has to offer.
Loads of Bonuses
No matter what you’re into, there’ll be a bonus for it at this site. There are more bonuses than I could count, but I’ve done my level best to cover the main ones below.
Both new players and regular players are rewarded here, so if you’re looking for a site you can play at for the long run, and you like rewards, this one is worth a look.
US bettors and casino players are used to having the door slammed in their faces at most online gambling sites, but this one welcomes you with open arms.
In fact, there are very few restricted territories at all. I’ve listed the handful of countries which can’t play above, but on the whole, Sportbet.com is a welcoming bunch.
I’m a big fan of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, and I’m happy to see that Sportbet.com accepts the king of cryptos – BTC.
This comes with all sorts of benefits such as no deposit or withdrawal fees and much faster transactions. If there was ever a time to give Bitcoin a try, now is it.
The Bad Stuff
Of course, there are a few drawbacks to every gambling site, too. Here are the things I feel Sportbet.com could work on.
No Weekend Withdrawals
This doesn’t apply to Bitcoin users, but everyone else will have to process withdrawals between Mon-Thurs and do so before lunchtime. This could be better, in my opinion.
No UK Players
If you’re from the UK, you’ll have to find another place to play. Luckily for you, there are lots of great UK-friendly casinos reviewed right here on the site.
Right off the bat, I should mention that there are five casinos at Sportbet.com. You’ll be able to play at any or all of them with a standard account. These casinos include the Grand, Jackpot, Gold, Bonus, and Matchplay casinos, and they all have something different to offer.
When reading the game information below, you should be aware that I’ve based them on what’s available in the Grand Casino, which is the main one. It has RealTime Gaming games, which means you’ll probably have heard of at least some of them before, whereas the other casinos are powered by software providers you might not have heard of.
All in all, with five separate casinos in the mix, you’ll find every game you can think of at Sportbet.com. Are they any good, though? That’s what you’re going to find out in this section.
There are multiple casinos here, and the games are powered by two different software companies across both – RTG and Digital Solutions.
Neither is what I’d call top-tier, but they’re not bad, either. They provide solid games and lots of variety, which is the main thing.
If you’re hoping to spin the reels and land that payout which will allow you to quit your job and live life on your own terms, you’ll have plenty of choices at Sportbet.com. I recommend checking out the following games:
- Aladdin’s Wishes
- Bubble Bubble
- Caesar’s Empire
- Cash Bandits
- Count Spectacular
- Derby Dollars
- Dragon Orb
- Fame and Fortune
- Football Frenzy
- God of Wealth
- Green Light
- Hen House
- Hillbillies Cashola
- Jazz Time
- Kung-Fu Rooster
- Lucha Libre
- Lucky 8
- Mayan Queen
- Mice Dice
- Polar Explorer
- Texas Tycoon
This is just a small sample of the slot games available in the Grand Casino, of which there are 160 in total. When you add the slots in the other four casinos this site offers, you’ll have hundreds upon hundreds of games to choose from.
If you have an account, you’ll be able to play these slots with your “fun balance,” which will give you an idea about their quality. RTG slots are good, but I wouldn’t call them the absolute best slots on the web by any means. Check them out for yourself, and you’ll see what I mean.
There are also detailed “game rule” sections for each game. These break down the symbols, game features, jackpots, and other useful information. I like this.
I’ve made no secret about the fact that video poker is my favorite game in the casino. I enjoy most games, but video poker takes the biscuit for me because it’s one I can learn, improve at, apply strategy to, and win quite often.
If you feel the same way, you’ll find the following games in the Grand Casino:
- Aces & Eights
- All American Poker
- Bonus Deuces Wild
- Bonus Poker
- Bonus Poker Deluxe
- Deuces Wild
- Double Double Jackpot Poker
- European Slot Poker
- Jacks or Better
- Joker Poker
- Loose Deuces
- Mystery Bonus Poker
- Seven Stud Poker
- Pick’em Poker
- Seven Wild
- Double Bonus Poker
- Double Double Bonus Poker
As with the slots, you’ll have a “fun balance” which will allow you to try the video poker games for yourself. In terms of quality, they’re fine. They do look a little dated as compared to some of the slicker, more modern releases, but as far as game functionality goes, they’re as good as any others.
Bets start at $0.25 and climb all the way to $25 per hand, making these games suitable for both penny players and high-stakes players alike.
This isn’t the biggest selection of table and card games I’ve ever seen, but what I did notice is that the selection covers basically everything. I couldn’t think of a game that isn’t listed here, although not every variant I can think of is listed.
I suggest checking out:
- Perfect Pairs Blackjack
- Suit ‘Em Up Blackjack
- European Blackjack
- Matchplay 21
- Face Up 21
- Super 21
- Caribbean Draw Poker
- Caribbean Stud Poker
- Caribbean Hold’em Poker
- Let ‘Em Ride
- Pai Gow Poker
- Red Dog Poker
- Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker
- Tri Card Poker
- Three Card Rummy
- Casino War
- American Roulette
- European Roulette
- French Roulette
- Sic Bo
This is the total number of games available in the Grand Casino, but keep in mind that there are lots of other games in the other four casinos. If you’re looking for a particular variant of one of the above games, check them out to see if it might be located in one of the other casinos.
As with most RTG games, the graphics are a little dated, but the game functionality is as good as any other.
Depending on which game you’re playing, bets range from $1 to $500. Whether you want to play for pennies and some fun or for high stakes and some serious cash, you’ll be catered to here.
There is a live casino at Sportbet.com, but it’s under a different tab on the menu bar. Click “live dealer” to navigate to it, and you’ll see the following games on offer:
- Super 6
This is the total selection of games, but live casinos rarely (if ever) offer as many games and variants as digital ones do. This selection should suffice for most players.
Games are run professionally, and there are some variants with enhanced payouts which are worth looking at if you want to add some extra excitement into the mix.
If you want to take a break from the traditional casino games and play some instant win or number games, you have a few options here. Check out:
- Treasure Tree
- Various Scratch Cards
My Favorite Find at Sportbet.com
I really liked Derby Dollars in the Grand Casino. It’s an RTG classic which has built a heck of a reputation for itself over the years, and as a fan of horse racing, I love the theme and the fact that you can win up to 25 free spins at any time. What makes the free spins even sweeter is that all wins are tripled during the round. The real highlight is the progressive jackpot, though. Winning that would make your year, and this game is worth playing just for a shot at it.
If you like to play poker against other players from around the world, you’ll be glad to know that’s an option at Sportbet.com.
Hover over the “Poker” tab on the main menu and then select “Grand Poker” from the drop-down menu. You’ll see various tabs on the lobby page including guides on how to get started, tournaments, promotions, and more. You’ll also see the option to download the poker software. You can download to Windows, load the flash poker room for Macs, and there’s also a mobile app, so all devices are covered.
I like the “How to Play” section a lot. It goes over the rules of most of the main poker variants and the rules of the house, too. It’d be a good idea to spend some time familiarizing yourself with this section if you’re a poker newbie.
Under the tournaments tab, you’ll find the tournaments calendar and can view the tournaments by poker variant, meaning you can zero in on your favorite poker games. I think this is a neat feature which deserves an extra mention.
Tournaments include regular, satellite, freeroll, special, and private tournaments. There are tournaments based on hold ‘em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo.
You can also categorize/view tournaments by buy-in. From free to low limits all the way up to high limits and those tournaments you can enter with poker points, there are options for everyone.
The only bummer is that there’s not a lot of traffic here as compared to many other US-friendly gambling sites. There are some players in almost every game, but it isn’t exactly what I’d call buzzing.
You’ll be able to bet on a wide variety of top-level sports at Sportbet.com. As the name of this site gives away, it’s primarily a sportsbook, and everything else comes second. Here’s what’s on offer:
- Horse Racing
As you can see, this sportsbook is geared towards North American bettors. However, there is a fair number of worldwide sports, so you can get in on the action on those, too.
I like how simple this sportsbook is. Although it has a very basic design, which looks like it was put together many moons ago, it’s extremely easy to use and navigate. I’ll take a user-friendly site that’s easy to use over a slick design any day, although truth be told I’d prefer both.
You’ll see all of the sports listed in the left-hand menu, and all of the live lines related to your selections will appear center-screen, as is the case at most sportsbooks. You can convert the odds to either American or decimal formats, depending on what you prefer. I did encounter a hiccup where I had to click one selection multiple times before it appeared on my bet slip, though, which shows there is some room for improvement.
There are a couple of cool features which I really appreciated at Sportbet.com. I enjoyed flicking through the “news” section, which filled me in on all of the latest happenings related to the sports I’m interested in (MMA and boxing, mainly).
I also like that there are clear, dedicated sections explaining the wager types, sportsbook rules, sports stats, and a betting glossary. These are all useful to both new and experienced sports bettors, and Sportbet.com scored a few extra points with me for providing them.
Speaking of types of wagers, let me explain what types of bets you can make here. You can place straight, total, teasers, if bets, reverses, round robins, pleasers, parlays, point buys, and various live/in-play bets here. So, as you can see, there are both lots of sports to bet on and lots of bets you can make. You won’t get bored quickly at this sportsbook.
The site is fairly mobile-friendly, although the navigation is a little quirky. You’ll see a drop-down menu labeled “navigation,” and you’ll have to make your way around the site from there. The good news is that you’ll have full functionality and access to everything you would on the desktop site.
You might have noticed that esports has become somewhat of an in thing these days, and if you’re interested in betting on it, you’ll find plenty of action at Sportbet.com.
You can bet on the latest games and tournaments related to CS:GO, Dota 2, LoL, and StarCraft II.
You’ll find the esports betting options under “Other Sports” in the left-hand menu. When you click it, all the current live lines will appear in the middle of the screen.
You’ll be able to make various live/in-play wagers at Sportbet.com, and these can be placed online only.
You’ll find the live bets under “Straight & RIF” bets on the main menu. From there, you’ll see all of the sports you can place in-play bets on listed. Lines are updated in real time as events unfold, so be sure to keep your attention on what’s happening in order to pounce on opportunities as they arise.
The maximum bet you can make is $500 on live/in-play bets.
The minimum bet you can make on any sports is $0.50 if you bet online, meaning this sportsbook is suitable for casual bettors. The maximum wager varies from sports to sport.
However, that equation changes if you place your bets by phone. In that case, the minimum bet is $50 for straight wagers, or $25 on parlays, teasers, pleasers, and futures. The minimum bet on open parlays is $100.
The most you can bet on any live game outcome is $500. However, on other sports, you can bet as much as $5,000 at a time.
The maximum payout on parlay, teaser, IF, or RIF bets is $1,000,000. If you ask for approval, you may be able to get an “unlimited” account.
There are a LOT of bonuses and promotions at Sportbet.com, ranging from sportsbook to casino to poker to lotto. Whatever you’re into, and whether you’re a new player or a long-termer, you’ll find plenty of incentives here.
I don’t really like beating around the bush, so let’s gets right into it, shall we?
50% New Player Welcome Bonus
If you deposit between $100 and $400, you’ll get a 50% deposit match to use in the sportsbook. If your deposit exceeds $400 and is up to $2,000, you’ll get an extra 20% bonus.
You’ll have to make a deposit of at least $100 and will have to use a credit card, Neteller, Skrill, Click to Pay, Person to Person, or FedEx Money Orders.
You’ll have to contact the team via live chat or email once you’ve made a qualifying deposit. The bonuses are paid incrementally as you wager your deposit in the sportsbook. For every 1x rollover of your original deposit, you’ll get 10% of your bonus.
Sportsbook 20% Reload Bonus
If you like what you see the first time around and decide to go back for a second bite of the apple, you’ll be eligible for a 20% sportsbook reload bonus worth up to $500.
You’ll need to deposit at least $250 to trigger a $50 bonus, and the maximum amount you can get is $500 from a $2,5000 deposit.
As with the welcome bonus, this one will be applied to your account incrementally as you wager your deposit. Again, you’ll have to contact the support team through live chat to trigger this bonus. You’ll need to meet 10x rollover requirements to release 10% of your bonus.
50% Casino MatchPlay Bonus
If you like casino games, you’ll be eligible for a 50% match play bonus worth up to $125. Naturally, you would have to deposit $250 to trigger the maximum bonus amount.
Every dollar you wager in the match play casino counts towards this bonus, which has 10x rollover requirements before it’s issued. As with the other bonuses, you’ll need to contact the support team to trigger it.
33% Casino MatchPlay Reload Bonus
If you enjoy your casino experience and decide to reload, you’ll get a 33% reload bonus if you deposit between $100 and $333.
Your bonus will be issued when you wager your deposit 5x, and you’ll have to contact the support team to activate this bonus once you’ve made your deposit.
Loyalty Bonus – 8th and 9th Deposits Free
If you decide that this is the gambling site for you, you’ll be glad to know that your 8th and 9th deposits are on the house, up to the value of $5,000 (North America) and $500 (elsewhere).
You’ll need to have made 7 prior deposits with no withdrawals, meaning you’ll have lost. Once you trigger the 8th deposit on the house, you’ll need to lose that, too, to trigger the 9th one.
Think of this bonus as a consolation prize if you go on a losing streak. It’s a second chance to make things right. Reduced juice bets don’t count towards this bonus.
If you decide to bet and play here for the long term, this bonus should be of interest to you. You’ll be eligible for 20%, 15%, 10%, and 5% cash-back bonuses, which I’ll explain more about below.
- You can claim 20% cash-back bonuses twice a year – within two weeks of the first pre-season NFL game and within two weeks of the Super Bowl. This will be 20% back on all of your losses
- You can claim 15% cash back on all of your losses within a 30-day period
- If you want 10% cash back more frequently, you can claim this every Tuesday between 09:00 and 23:00 ET
- Or if you want your cash back on any other day than Tuesday, you can claim 5% back
This is a little convoluted, I must say, but I appreciate the fact that so much cash back is available. This bonus makes Sportbet.com a prime candidate for a long-term gambling site.
21% Casino Rebate Bonus
To take advantage of this bonus, you’ll have to contact the customer support team in advance and let them know you want your account switched to this program.
Grand Casino, Live Dealer, and MatchPlay Casino losses placed before 01:00 ET are considered when issuing your rebate bonus.
You’ll be able to calculate this bonus once every 30 days. Alternatively, you can claim a 14% rebate bonus every Wednesday.
The minimum rebate you can claim is $2.50, but the casino reserves the right to raise this to $50.
Free Payout Bonus
Once a month, you’ll be eligible for a free payout (or discount of $40) on withdrawals from the sportsbook.
Note that if you opt for this bonus, it invalidates all other bonus offers. I’m not so sure I like the sound of this, to be honest. First, because it invalidates all other bonuses, and second, because it indicates that there are fairly steep withdrawal fees normally. I’ll get into those in a little more detail in the relevant section below.
Lucky 77 Lotto Bonus
If you enjoy online lotto games and are willing to make a deposit of $77 or more, you can get 77 “free shots” immediately credited to your account.
You’ll have to contact the customer support team to activate this bonus, and you’ll have to use either your credit card or an e-wallet to make a deposit.
Lotto 900 Reload Bonus
After you’ve used your lotto deposit bonus, you’ll be eligible for a 5% reload bonus worth as much as $25.
You’ll have to deposit at least $100 to activate this offer, and the maximum deposit amount you can claim a bonus on is $500.
All deposit methods may be used for this bonus, and you’ll have to contact the customer support team to activate the bonus.
There are lots of ongoing, time-limited bonuses for both sportsbook and casino players. You’ll find these listed at the bottom of the “gambling bonuses” page. These are coupons for all of the casinos, free bets, and lots of other offers.
Each will have its own terms and conditions, so be sure to check those out and make sure you understand them before accepting them. It’s good to know that Sportbet.com takes care of loyal, long-term players, though.
Some of these bonuses are appealing, but I find the incremental release factor and the fact that you have to manually activate them takes the shine off them, just a little.
They’re still worth a closer look, but most of them could also be better offers if the terms were changed slightly. I told you I wasn’t going to lie to you, didn’t I?
I always take an extra dose of caffeine before reviewing the banking options at any online gambling site, so I suggest you do the same before reading this section if coffee or tea is your drink. You’ll want to pay attention because if a gambling site is going to deliver a gut punch you don’t see coming, it will almost certainly be through the fees they apply to deposits and withdrawals.
As it turns out, Sportbet.com isn’t hiding anything. In fact, the banking section can be viewed even by those who don’t hold accounts, and everything is listed on a table for ease of understanding. There are no fees on any of the deposit methods, but there are some fees on some of the withdrawal methods.
In short, if you withdraw by check, you’ll pay a $40-$80 fee, and if you withdraw by money order or bank wire, you’ll pay $80. Withdrawals by Bitcoin are fee-free, so my advice is to use those instead.
There’s a decent variety of ways to make deposits and withdrawals, and in fact, there are more ways to get your money out than there are to get it in, which is a surprise. I’ve listed the deposit and withdrawal methods for you below.
Bitcoin is accepted as both a deposit and withdrawal method at Sportbet.com, meaning this is a crypto-friendly gambling site.
Withdrawal times are average (same day or between three and five days), but my only complaint is that while deposits are processed 24/7, most withdrawals are only processed from Monday-Thursday between 09:00-13:00. The sole exception is Bitcoin, which is available 24/7.
- Credit Cards
- Person to Person
- Money Order
- Person to Person
- Cashier Check
- Money Order
- Bank Wire
If you need to get in touch with the Sportbet.com support team, you can do so via the following options.
Email – Send a message to [email protected] if you have a non-urgent question or complaint. You can expect a reply within 24-48 hours.
Live Chat – This is the fastest way to get in touch. I got connected to a live chat operator named Sam within 30 seconds. He was helpful and answered my questions about some of the bonuses in a direct, no-nonsense way.
Telephone – US and Canadian players can call the telephone helpline(s) available. Which number you need to call depends on the nature of your request.
- For sports wagering, call 1-866-WAGERSB
- For horse wagering, call 1-800-243-7071
- For new accounts inquiries, call 1-877-332-7501
- For general customer service, call 1-800-430-5896
I like to see telephone helplines, and I give Sportbet.com extra credit for providing not only one but multiple numbers to call.
Would I Play at Sportbet.com?
I’m not going to claim this is the best gambling site I’ve ever come across, because it isn’t. It’s decent, though, and depending on what you’re looking for, it could be great or not-so-great.
What Sportbet.com does offer is a little bit of everything. You’ll be able to bet on all the sports you can think of, play in multiple casinos (with just about every game offered), burn through a few digital lotto tickets, and then head over to play in non-stop poker tournaments if you wish to take in everything this site has to offer.
The best next step to take is to visit the site for yourself and see what you think. Is Sportbet.com for you? Only you can truly answer that!
