When I come across a casino owner who is responsible for more than a couple of brands, I am always curious to understand why they choose certain themes. There are several popular concepts when it comes to casino names and design; one of these is the Egyptian/Middle East theme.

It seems like once a week I am given a site to review that has pyramids or Cleopatra on the homepage; in this case, it is mummies in the design of the casino I am reviewing today: Mummy’s Gold Casino.

About Mummy’s Gold Casino

Mummy's Gold Header

Mummy’s Gold Casino is another site in the arsenal of gaming ventures owned by Digimedia, who is more commonly known as the Palace Group of Casinos. This organization operates 20 different brands at present, including names you are likely familiar with like Jackpot City and Casino Epoca.

Strangely, this casino looks very similar to Spin Palace, at least in my opinion. The connection was confirmed when I tried to create an account, only to be told that my username had already been taken (it is so unique that no one else would have chosen it). When I asked about my password, the customer service agent told me that if I had an account at Spin Palace, I could log in with that account; sure enough, it worked.

The Palace Group are based in Malta and have two gaming licenses; one is by the Malta Gaming Authority, which gives the casino credibility when it comes to trust and accountability. The other is from the Kahnawake reservation outside Montreal, Canada. I presume this is because the hosting facility on that reservation is one of the old stomping grounds of their software supplier and most of their licensees at one point had to be hosted there.

Who Can Play at Mummy’s Gold Casino?

As with many of the Palace Group casinos, there is a long list of countries from which they cannot accept real money players. That is just an unfortunate part of the online casino world today; until there is a more universal acceptance of online gaming across the globe, you are always going to run into these issues. That is why reading our reviews helps; it will save you time and frustration going to sites where you can’t play.

These are the countries that are on the restricted list for this casino:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • British Virgin Islands
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • France
  • French Guiana
  • French Polynesia
  • Hong Kong
  • Hungary
  • Iran
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Jersey
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Puerto Rico
  • Romania
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan
  • Turkey
  • S. Virgin Islands
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Software Suppliers

For this casino, as well as the majority of the Palace Group casinos, Microgaming is the provider. If you have read any of the other reviews of this group’s brands, or have ever played with Microgaming in the past, you will know that the games they provide are of excellent quality, with over 200 games in total for you to choose from in the lobby.

Microgaming is available for play in either your PC’s browser or via a download of the software you can put right on your PC. Either way, you are going to enjoy the content you find from this top-notch software developer. The majority of these games have been formatted to fit the screen sizes of mobile devices, so they can also be accessed via your mobile browser if you want to play while you are on the go.

The Good Stuff

Slot Tournaments

I love when a casino offers tournaments in their slots games. First, it is an excellent way to get non-slots players like me interested in spinning the reels. Second, it is a way to award some extra dollars to players who would already be playing the games in the first place. You can find all available tournaments in the casino lobby.

Jackpots are yours for the taking

Right at the top of the homepage of the site, a tracker is showing how much money is available in progressive jackpots on the site; at present, it is sitting at almost 3 Million USD. It is tough for me to look away from these massive jackpots; I am convinced that one day, given how much I play for my job, that I am going to hit one of these seven-figure paydays. (Don’t worry, I won’t stop reviewing casinos even after becoming filthy rich). You should give these games a try for yourself!

The Bad Stuff

No Live Dealer Games

Seeing that this casino is essentially a double of the Spin Palace Casino, it is surprising that they do not offer the same Live Dealer games. This is a disappointment; I have come to love these games, especially the ones built by Evolution Gaming which is available on other sites owned by the Palace Group. I remain hopeful that these will be added to the roster at Mummy’s Gold.

Wagering Requirements are high

When you want to earn your bonus dollars, be ready for a long journey; the wagering requirement is now set at 50x the bonus amount. This means you have to wager $5,000 to clear a full $100 in bonuses. That is extremely high compared to many sites out there (although it matches all the Palace Group sites). This won’t affect everyone, but it is something to consider when calculating ROI at this casino.

Game Selection

Mummy's Gold Games

Let’s start our tour of Microgaming’s software platform with the most creative part: the slots catalog. You will find over a hundred titles available for you to play here; from classic 3 reel games to the most advanced bonus games and pay lines, everything is covered at this casino. I especially love the licensed content slots; I am a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica, so I often find myself at this slot machine when I am testing a casino for my review.

Table Games

Do you know how many variants of Blackjack there are? I bet you didn’t. That’s ok; I am not sure I know myself! However, what I am sure of is that the number of different versions of the classic game of 21 that you can find at this casino is more than enough to satisfy even the savviest of gamblers.

There isn’t just a bunch of Blackjack games in the lobby. You will also find games like Roulette and Craps for your playing enjoyment. Here’s the list of all the Table Games:

  • Vegas single deck Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • Vegas Strip Blackjack
  • Bonus Blackjack
  • Atlantic City Gold Blackjack
  • Vegas Downtown Blackjack
  • Hi-Lo 13 European Blackjack

  • Spanish Blackjack

Video Poker

Well, this is always a lot of fun for me when I am writing these reviews. On a good day, you can find me playing video poker machines for hours; today is no exception, especially since I hit a high hand very early in my testing session. The end result? Well, it is taking longer to write this review, that’s for sure.

Mummy’s Gold features the full complement of Microgaming Video Poker titles, including these great games:

  • All Aces
  • Jacks or Better
  • All American
  • Aces & Faces
  • Double Bonus
  • Bonus Deuces Wild
  • Tens or Better
  • Aces & Eights
  • Deuces & Joker
  • Double Double Bonus
  • Joker Poker
  • Bonus Poker Deluxe
  • Double Joker
  • Deuces Wild
  • Louisiana Double

Continuing a theme with this group of casinos operated by the Palace Group, the Promotions page is pretty empty. I know there are a couple of small ongoing promotions that you can find in the casino lobby, but unless they plan to inundate me with promotions via email, it is going to be hard for Mummy’s Gold to keep me as a loyal player.

Welcome Bonus

I will give the owners credit here: at least they change up their Welcome Bonus at each of their sites. For Mummy’s Gold, it is a straightforward match bonus of 100% to $500. You need to remember that this comes with a wagering requirement of 50x, meaning to maximize the bonus you will have to bet at least $25,000. Also, the casino only gives you 7 days from when you create your account to take advantage of the bonus by depositing; any deposits after that will not qualify.

Even though there may not be that many bonuses for you to take advantage of (at least not posted on the website), you still need to make a deposit to play. The Palace Group leverages all their brands to get the best rates from their payment providers; what that means for you is a long list of ways for you to process your transactions.

Comp Program

The Comp Program at Mummy’s gold is tied to their VIP Program. The baseline of the comp program is as follows: for every $10 you wager in the real money casino games, you receive 1 comp point. You can convert points at a rate of $1 per 100 points once you reach the minimum of 1,000 points. As these points have an expiry date, I always suggest that you cash them in whenever you can. Also, depending on your VIP status level, you could be earning points at a much faster rate.

VIP Program

I am pleased to see that this casino has their VIP program details front and center; for some reason not every casino (hell, not even every Palace Group site) posts this information.  This can be very frustrating for those of us who like to use the VIP program to assist in calculating our profit margin at the casino.

The VIP program at this casino has six tiers; here is a great chart with an overview of the qualification requirements for each level as well as all the benefits of moving up in the program:

Loyalty tiers Blue Silver Gold Platinum Diamond Privé

I would love to get to the level where I could travel to meet my casino VIP Manager; that seems like quite a luxury, but I will admit that I like having a face-to-face relationship with my VIP hosts in Las Vegas. The company has also taken their players to some great sporting events over the years; this kind of perk garners way more perceived value from a player than more bonuses in the online casino.

Customer Service

I love that the Support page is very informative at Mummy’s Gold.Mummy's Gold Support You will immediately see all the different options available to you; if you want an instant response, just click on the Live Help button and an agent will be on the screen within a minute. You can also call the casino on the telephone (there are toll-free numbers for many countries), or you could send a more detailed question via email, so there is space to explain your issue fully.

Would I Play at Mummy’s Gold Casino?

Well, seeing that I already have an active account at Spin palace, I guess the answer to this question is yes, I would play at Mummy’s Gold! Seriously though, I like the look and feel of this brand, and the VIP program is what really drives my behavior, so this is a great spot for someone like me. If you are looking for more bonuses, then you may want to look elsewhere; this is a site for players who are looking for ROI from the comp program and are wanting to play games provided by an industry-leading software company. Feel free to give these guys a try, and when you do, please let us know how it goes for you!
