|Software & Games:|
The advent of social casinos over the last decade has changed the way people look at the traditional casino games. Instead of focusing on betting and winning real money, the social casino changed the ideal play into completing challenges and moving up the social leaderboards. Now, the traditional online casino has, for the most part, rejected the idea of social casinos, tending to focus on the real-money clients. One casino that has embraced the social casino mantra is Casino Room. They are trying to integrate the two types of player into one offering, hoping to find some crossover for both so they can monetize the maximum number of players.
This review will be an honest review not only covering the games themselves but also trying to determine if this strategy is one that makes sense for online casinos moving forward.
About Casino Room Casino
Casino Room has been in operation since 2005 and is currently owned and operated by Ellsworth Gaming Limited out of Malta. The company is also licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, as well as having a Curacao license. The company has offices in Malta, which is a prerequisite for acquiring the Malta license.
The team management team clearly has an eye for design, as the website is one of the best I have reviewed in a long time. It is evident that the group is focused on younger players by looking at the layout of the site, and the general theme of the site itself. The company seems focused on creating a community more than anything (a key component of the social casino), and at first glance, I am impressed with what I see.
Who Can Play at Casino Room Casino?
Fortunately, it looks like most countries are allowed to play at this casino. Before they acquired the Malta license, they may have been taking U.S. players, but as of now, there is no way for Americans to play at this site for real money.
The restricted list for Casino Room is significantly shorter than many I have encountered; if you live in one of these countries, then you are currently out of luck:
- United States
To try to make you want to be a loyal player at this casino, the management team of Casino Room have secured partnerships with many of the top software providers in the industry. Have a look at all the vendors who are a part of the offering:
- Net Entertainment
- Genesis Gaming
- ELK Studios
- Play’n GO
- Evolution Gaming
As you can see from the list, there is an excellent mix of larger and mid-sized software companies. All of this adds up to a casino featuring over 800 games for you to play, including some of the most dynamic slots games on the market today.
The Casino Room casino can be played on a PC via your browser, or on your mobile devices. At this stage, there is no native app available so you will be playing via the device’s browser in Instant Play mode.
The Good Stuff
Leaderboards and Scrolling Banners
Typically, if a casino has a scrolling banner, it is to show what players have been recent winners on the site. Not only does Casino Room have this type of banner, but it also has a running update of other things going on at the casino, including when you register an account. I actually love this idea; it lets you know that you are not alone when you are sitting in your room playing your favorite games. They also have a leaderboard of the big winners from the day; play your cards right, and you could be on that board as well!
Casino Lobby Navigation
With over 800 games to choose from, just finding a game you want to play can be a daunting task. At Casino Room, the management understands that and has worked with the development team to make it as simple as possible to find the different titles. Not only are the games sorted by category, but they are also sorted by theme (sports, superheroes, sci-fi, etc.).
This means you can quickly narrow you’re your choices to a select few before jumping into a game.
The Bad Stuff
Where are the Ongoing Promotions?
This industry is highly competitive, and one of the ways a casino can continue to differentiate itself from the pack is with the ongoing offers it has on their site. In the case of Casino Room, it seems that they are going the opposite direction – there are no ongoing promos. Zero. Somehow, I can’t imagine this is actually the case (I looked everywhere for some with no luck). They had better get on this because once the players have finished the Welcome Bonuses, they will be looking for something else to entice them to deposit and play.
Lack of Video Poker Options
This is pretty disappointing to me, especially given how much I love to play video poker. For some reason, the folks at Casino Room have chosen only to use one software’s library of video poker titles, meaning there isn’t much selection at all to choose from.
I am hopeful they will add some more along the way for those of us who really like to take a run at the elusive Royal Flush.
With over 800 games from a dozen software vendors, the review of the games at Casino Room was extensive, to say the least. I found myself jumping back and forth between games to determine which software was being used, and for the most part, I think I figured it out, so when you read below, you will know what you will see if you log into this casino. (Remember that if you are playing in a country that is on the restricted list for a software vendor such as Microgaming, then you won’t be able to see their games in your lobby).
Live Dealer Casino
I will start with these games mainly because I have fallen in love with them since I started playing them a few years ago. I am not ashamed to admit that after a few cocktails, I like to saddle up to my laptop and open up some Live Dealer games so I can play with a living, breathing human on the other end of the table. If you haven’t tried these games before, you are in luck at Casino Room because they have chosen to work with Evolution Gaming, a Live Dealer specialist. Here are the games you can try with a live dealer:
- Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em
- Three Card Poker
- Casino Hold ‘Em
Casino Room has chosen to provide Table Games from multiple vendors, which gives you the chance to play several variations of your favorite games in case you want to change up the look and feel of your gaming experience. For me, that means trying out as many Blackjack games as possible hoping to find some luck at one of them while performing the site review (I wasn’t so lucky this time around).
Here are some of the games you will find in the Table Games lobby of the casino:
- 21 Burn Blackjack
- 3 Card Poker
- American Blackjack
- Atlantic City Blackjack Gold

- Casino Hold ‘Em
- Casino War
- Classic Blackjack Gold
- Cyberstud Poker

The bulk of the casino offering can be found in the slots catalog. There are literally hundreds of titles to choose from, including being able to sort the games by theme as I pointed out earlier. You will find over a dozen progressive jackpot slots at Casino Room, including the massive Mega Moolah game featuring a progressive jackpot of over 7,000,000 USD at press time.
I could go on and on about how amazing this slots lobby is, but it is easier if you just check out the games for yourself. Here are some of my favorite titles:
- Amazon Wild
- Apollo Rising
- Atlantis Treasure
- Bejeweled 2 Slots
- Black Widow

The disappointment I felt when I had to add Video Poker to the Bad Stuff section of this review did not subside by the time I got to writing about it in more detail. Normally, I will tell a story about the session I had when testing the casino; this time, however, all I did was look at the variants quickly before moving on to more important areas of the casino.
Here are the four game types you will find in the video poker section of the casino:
- All American
- Jacks or Better
- Joker Poker
- Deuces Wild
A casino that is half real money, half social-based may have some trouble coming up with promotions that fit their player base. The team at Casino room has done an admirable job of putting together a comprehensive promotional plan for your first few deposits, but that seems to be the end of the road. Hopefully some ongoing promotions are sent via email to players. Otherwise there isn’t much more incentive to be a loyal player. Here are the details of the Welcome Bonus:
Casino Room is offering new players 50 SPINS on registration (No Deposit Required) and the option to pick your Welcome Bonus offering bonuses on your first FIVE DEPOSITS along with more SPINS on a variety of slot games! Choose from 3 different offers on each of your first five deposits!
- 1st Deposit: 500% up to $100 or 200% up to $300 or 50 Spins
- 2nd Deposit: 200% up to $200 or 100% up to $500 or 30 Spins
- 3rd Deposit: 200% up to $200 or 100% up to $500 or 30 Spins
- 4th Deposit: 100% up to $200 or 50% up to $500 or 30 Spins
- 5th Deposit: 100% up to $200 or 50% up to $500 or 30 Spins
The Spins are available at these games: Lucky 7; SugarPop; Mega Gems; Boomanji; Fruit Zen; Pinocchio; Good Girl, Bad Girl; Mega Glam Life; Treasure Room; Mad Scientist
* All new players will be eligible for 50 Spins (10 Free Spins for 5 days) when they create an account at CasinoRoom. These must be wagered 75 times before you will be able to withdraw any winnings. Max win is $100.
* Certain bonuses have a higher minimum deposit requirement than others, unless otherwise stated on the bonus page, all bonuses require a minimum deposit of $10
* You will need to wager your free spins winnings or bonus amount 75 times before you can withdraw the bonus or any winnings gained from them.
* All Spins and deposit bonuses are valid for 7 days upon activation, unless otherwise stated.
* Only one option can be chosen per person or account.
* Deposits made via Skrill or Neteller are not eligible for this Bonus.
* The General CasinoRoom Bonus Terms and Conditions apply.
I appreciate that some Free Spins come along with just registering your account, and being able to choose your bonus on each deposit is an excellent added feature.
Well, at least the payment options are straightforward at this casino. I am a bit surprised that they do not accept Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency; these methods are very secure and are becoming very popular these days amongst gamblers around the world.
- Bank Wire Transfer
- Visa Electron

There is no sign of a comp program at Casino Room. Because there are not very many ongoing promotions, not having a comp program seems like a slap in the face to loyal players.
Shockingly, a site that is trying to build a community doesn’t seem to have a VIP program. Now, I recognize many casinos have a private VIP program for their players, but if that were the case here, I would have read something about it online.
I am stunned at the lack of a program to reward the players who play and lose the most in this casino…it is deeply off-putting not to have a reason to play for long periods of time.
The Customer Service department wants to make sure you are able to contact them as quickly as possible to resolve any issues you have. This is evident when you read any of the player forums. Whenever there is a complaint about the site, a representative usually responds within minutes with an explanation, and as a result, many of the complaints are resolved then and there.
You don’t have to go to the forums to broadcast your displeasure; you can reach out to the casino via Live Chat, phone, email, and Skype along with contact them through their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Would I Play at Casino Room?
Well, this is indeed a tough one. At the outset of this review, I would have immediately recommended the site to my readers. I love the look and feel of the website, and the casino lobby navigation is excellent considering how many games are housed at Casino Room.
However, past the welcome Bonus seems to be an abyss, missing any ongoing promotions of a VIP program for the casino’s most loyal players. As a result, my recommendation to you is that you take advantage of the excellent Welcome Offer for your first few deposits, then check again to see if there has been a change in the promotions department.
If not, then I suggest you pull your deposit and move on; sadly, I can’t fully endorse a company that doesn’t seem to care about the lifetime of their players.
