With its animated theme and fun fonts and bright colors, it sure would seem that the Big Rock Slots casino is designed for a young, hip crowd.

However, is this just a façade or does this casino have what it takes to receive my recommendation for real money play? Let’s review this site in full before I render a verdict.

About Big Rock Slots

Big Rock Slots Fox and Duck

Let me start with this thought: it is frustrating when a site doesn’t have an About Us page. I am not sure why they don’t want you to know who they are, but in this case the page is non-existent. That won’t stop someone as shrewd as me, though – I am here to gather as much information as I can for my loyal readers. Here is what I found out:

Big Rock Slots was launched in 2015 and is part of the Jumpman Gaming network of casinos. It seems that Jumpman has a tight relationship with Cozy Games; in fact, they could very well be the same company. That doesn’t bother me too much; companies change names all the time in this industry, and I just assume that Michale Jordan and Drake are not behind the Jumpman Gaming company.

The casino has a gaming license from the UK Gambling Commission, which is an excellent sign. This license is the hardest to get, and these days playing at a safe site is one of the most important factors for players when they make their final decision on where to send their money.

Who Can Play at Big Rock Slots?

For those of you wondering what comes along with the UK gaming license aside from safety and security, well, this is it: there is a long list of countries that Big Rock Slots cannot accept players from. If they did take players from these countries listed below, they would likely lose this prestigious designation:

  • Afghanistan
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Albania
  • Armenia
  • Netherlands Antilles
  • Angola
  • American Samoa
  • Australia
  • Bosnia And Herzegovina
  • Bangladesh
  • Belgium
  • Bulgaria
  • Bahamas
  • British Virgin Islands
  • Belarus
  • Chile

The majority of the casino is being run on the Cozy Games platform, along with a sprinkling of games from NetEnt and iSoftBet. The Cozy Games suite of games is very slots-heavy, as you will see when you read my complete review of the game selection. They are also known as more of a bingo company, so it isn’t surprising then to find this many slots available.

The games are all designed to be played without a download so you can play from any computer through the browser. The games are also mobile-friendly, meaning that they will fit into the screen size of most mobile devices.

The Good Stuff

One promotion I want to single out before the Promotions section of this review is the Spinathon. This is a leaderboard promotion that rewards the top slots players each week with £1,000 in cash. There are two things, in particular, I like about this promotion. First, it gives me the motivation to play consistently for an entire week. Second, the promotion pays out 25 spots, which is much more than these promotions usually pay. Yes, while 25th place only gets £5, but hey that is definitely better than nothing for performing an activity you were probably already going to, right?

The Bad Stuff

Table Games Offering is Weak

Again, we will go into more detail on this later, but why an online casino doesn’t offer a full suite of games is beyond me. It doesn’t take up any more real estate to throw up some more Table Games, so I am hopeful that these guys get their act together and release some soon.

Game Selection

Big Rock Slots Games

Slot Machines

Well with a name like Big Rock Slots, you would have to believe that there are a lot of slots to choose from, right? The casino is definitely slots-heavy, but it is surprising that there didn’t seem to be too many of the more popular NetEnt games in the catalog. Nevertheless, there are well over 100 different titles to choose from; these ones are some that I had played before and enjoyed:

  • Aloha!
  • Alchemist
  • Alice Adventure
  • 5 Ninjas
  • Aztec Rising
  • Autumn Gold
  • Astro Magic
  • Asteroids
  • Barn Ville
  • Beach
  • Beez Kneez
  • Best Things in Life
  • Beverly Hills 90201
  • Black Widow
  • Bloopers
  • Bloodshot
  • Boom Brothers
  • Booster
  • Boss the Lotto
  • Can Can
  • Cash Cuisine
  • Cherry Trio
  • Excalibur
  • Epic Gems
  • Eggomatic
  • Easter Island
  • Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
  • Gets the Worm
  • Genie Wild
  • Gonzo’s Quest
  • Gamma Girl
  • Fruit Abduction
  • Foxin Wins
  • Froots
  • Guns N’ Roses
  • Happy Birds
  • Haunted Hallows
  • Jimi Hendrix
  • Lion Dance
  • Lights
  • Koi Princess
  • Lucky Irish
  • Starburst
  • Mad Mad Monkey
  • Lucky Spell
  • Ninja Chef
  • Pandamania
  • Owl Eyes
  • Musketeer

Table Games

Ugh. What the hell is happening here? I love my Table Games, so when I got to Big Rock Slots and checked out their offering, the feeling I got was equivalent to a punch in the gut. Some of the traditional games like Craps and Pai Gow Poker are nowhere to be found, and there are barely enough Blackjack and Roulette options to keep the lights on.  Now, the games I did try were actually quite good from a playability standpoint, so if these are the games you want, then you will be fine playing here:

  • American Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Casino Hold’em
  • European Roulette
  • Punto Banco Pro
  • Roulette Master
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • TXS Holdem Pro

Video Poker

Ugh. The video poker section of the Big Rock Slots site is just depressing. It reminds me of walking into a rundown gas station in Nevada with a few dusty machines over in the corner that no one is playing. Again, why they don’t try harder to add some of these games befuddles me; they can make a casino a lot of money and are pretty close to slot machines from a play perspective.

At any rate, if you are looking to play video poker at Big Rock Slots, then these are your only options:

  • Jacks or Better 1-Hand
  • Deuces Wild Double Up
  • Joker Wild Double Up

Specialty Games

The casino does offer a few specialty games in their lobby, which are really just a couple of bingo and Keno games and many scratch tickets. For those of you who like to play these games, at least they are in the lobby, but realistically you are probably going elsewhere for better action. These are the available titles:

  • Arctic Madness
  • Barn Ville
  • Boss The Lotto
  • Cash Cuisine
  • Cops And Robbers
  • Diamond Deal
  • Disco Disco
  • Dragon Scrolls
  • Feline Queen
  • Forty Thieves
  • Fruit Basket
  • Hercules Magnus
  • Hero’s Quest
  • Lucky Irish
  • Lucky Keno
  • Mega Love
  • Mystic Force
  • Ocean Fortune
  • Rio Bingo
  • Royal Charm
  • Spinlotto
  • Star Raiders

It is time to turn my attention to what this casino is doing to entice you to make a deposit; after all, if they can’t get you to open your wallet, then they can’t pay the bills themselves!

Welcome Bonus

When it comes to online casino marketing, the very first thing an operator needs to think about it how they are going to attract a player for the first time. The Welcome Bonus is the real icebreaker in the relationship – a good one, and you likely have a new player, but if it stinks, the date could end early. Here is what Big Rock Slots offers you in their 3-part Welcome Offer.

  • 1st Deposit: 100% match bonus to maximum of £200 + 20 Free Spins on Starburst
  • 2nd Deposit: 100% Match Bonus +20 Free Spins
  • 3rd Deposit: 100% Match Bonus +20 Free Spins

That part is the good news; when you start to dig into the Terms and Conditions for the Welcome Bonus, there is some trouble lurking. First, it says that the maximum you can receive in bonus is £200. What it doesn’t say is if that is per deposit or total. If it is the total amount, then really the second and third deposits don’t matter; just make the first deposit of £200. I am hopeful that this is just the case of being lost in translation.

Second, the company forces you to play the bonus 65 times to clear it entirely. This is insanely high compared to many casinos out there; you are unlikely to make it through the bonus without having to make another deposit, so keep that in mind if you are counting on converting those bonus dollars to real cash.

Big Rock Slots has incorporated some of the behavior that made social casinos so popular into their offering. They do this by having you complete a series of tasks to receive Trophies. When you accumulate a number of these Trophies, you move to the next level, unlocking special bonuses like Free Spins and other great awards. I like the way these guys have taken a Best Practice from another industry and incorporated it into their casino.

Pizza Club

Pizza Club at Big Rock Slots

Who doesn’t love pizza, especially when it is free! I love promotions like this, as they don’t just offer you something digital in your account, but instead give you more than a warm heart: a full belly as well! Here is the description of this promotion:

“Win Free Pizza every Sunday
Our VIPs are invited to take part in the weekly Pizza Club promotion, which is their chance to win a fresh pizza every Sunday!
To take part simply play your favorite slots on Sundays and if you’re one of the 5 VIPs with the highest wagers, we’ll send you a pizza e-voucher on Monday.
This means that Mondays could see you enjoying free fresh pizza and VIP cashback or in other words lots of extra dough!”

The site has most of the standard forms of payment available for its players; where I want to focus my attention in this review is on the withdrawal limits. If you look at the site, they will tell you quite plainly that you cannot request more than $5,000 per month. That’s very low, especially when you consider that includes any money won in a progressive jackpot. I am all for limits especially to protect the casino from scammers, but not allowing a jackpot winner access to their cash is silly. I hope Jumpman figures this out and comes up with a better solution.

Comp/VIP Program

Big Rock Slots does have a Comp Program, so to speak. It definitely does not work like a standard comp program; instead of receiving points when you play real money games, all these guys care about is that you make deposits. When you make a deposit, you will receive “Kudos” from the site at a rate of 1 Kudos for every $1 deposited.

These Kudos are used to determine where you stand in their VIP Program. This program has 5 levels; you move into each category by earning more Kudos. Now, they say that by depositing AND playing, you earn Kudos, but right below that text is the definition of the Kudos as it relates to deposits.

Each level of the VIP program unlocks better rewards. You can see all these in the following chart:

Big Rock Slots VIP

Level Newbie Expert Pro VIP Legend
Weekly Cashback No 1% 3% 5% 10%
Free Spins 0 5 10 25 50
Birthday Bonus Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Requirement – Collect Kudos Up to 100 Kudos 101 – 1,000 1,001 – 2,500 2501 – 5,000 5,000+

Overall it is a tidy, efficient program but it doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles (and more extravagant prizes) that other VIP schemes offer. If you are looking just for cashback, then this program is perfect for you.

Customer Service

Big Rock Slots Support

The folks at Big Rock Slots know that if you have an issue or request, you will want to get a hold of someone quickly to come up with an answer. To that end, the company has three ways that you can contact them: email, Live Chat and WhatsApp (how modern of them!).

I did not test the customer service for this review, so if there is anyone who has feedback on the quality of service, please feel free to send it our way.

Would I Play at Big Rock Slots?

Well, to me there is a big difference in answering the question “Would I play at Big Rock Slots” and “Would I recommend Big Rock Slots.” Personally, I am more likely to play Table Games than slots, so I can’t see myself playing anymore at this casino than I did for the purposes of this review. However, the slots-focused casino definitely provides exactly what the slots player would want to see. With promotions and bonuses designed for those who like to spin the reels, I think anyone who loves those games will like playing here. It isn’t the best casino I have ever come across, and their wagering requirements are higher than most, but aside from that, there isn’t any reason you shouldn’t give Big Rock Slots a go.
